  • Who Lost the WMD?

eeting last month at a sweltering U.S. base outside Doha, Qatar, with his top Iraq commanders, President Bush skipped quickly past the niceties and went straight to his chief political obsession: Where are the weapons of mass destruction? Turning to his Baghdad proconsul, Paul Bremer, Bush asked, "Are you in charge of finding WMD?" Bremer said no, he was not. Bush then put the same question to his military commander, General Tommy Franks. But Franks said it wasn't his job either. A little exasperated, Bush asked, So who is in charge of finding WMD? After aides conferred for a moment, someone volunteered the name of Stephen Cambone, a little-known deputy to Donald Rumsfeld, back in Washington. Pause. "Who?" Bush asked

The same guy who let the dogs out.

It would be funny to see Bush in a Shatner moment, looking up at a camera, putting his fist up and shouting "CAMBONE!!!"

          I click that link

all I get is a blank page except for an advertisement to the movie: Ceaser- on TNT coming soon. I wonder if that flick will be any good. Made for tv movies aren't all that hot. But the subject isn't popular enough for the big screen I suppose. I did watch Helen of Troy, but again, another tv movie.

Chris Noth, former Law and Order star, is in it so it must be good.

From the beginning, all questions regarding the WMD where asked to people not in charged of that subject and they answered quite reasonnably, since they did not look after then, that they have not found any of them.

It is possible that this CAMBONE guy has found everything long ago and was just waiting to be asked.
              Statistical anomaly.

I wonder if the Bushies will try to make him the scapegoat.

Interesting article. Not so much for the current details but giving conjecture on how it might unfold... Also interesting to see Tenet squirming and ducking out of testimony - not a ploy he can keep up for long.
