The division of powers in France is different. The Court is a very big deal here in the US, and they are in the news constantly, at least during their term.
I guess they are as important name recognition wise as members of the cabinet, but I am sure a lot of Americsn would not be able to name one member of the Cabinet (they might know Powelland Rumsfeld, but they porbalby don;t associate the names with the notion of Cabinet).If you don't like reality, change it! me

If the majority of young people can't name the VP of the USA (and i've seen some polls to that effect), how can we expect them to grasp even larger issues that shape american society? Truly sad

Are your constitutional judges that famous ? I personally couldn't name one of mine, despite being a polsci students. Our constitutional judges are mostly useless anyway.

. They can invalidate laws just like that. So I'd think knowing them would be a good exercise. I knew all of the current members on the court even before I came to Law School.
