You can only deal with these people through extreme punishment.
First, identify him in your mind as an *******. Associate him with the concept of "*******". Then, deal with him much harder than the minimum is. Time his whining. The longer he rants about it, the less you will cave in like you did. Execute him with no mercy.
This will ensure you have no long-lasting problems.
