But how well is he doing at those things? This latest on Hillary is giving him lots of national press and publicity, which enhances everything he's doing now.

Do you guys know what the oath is?

      or the justice system.

It matters not what he lied about. He could have lied about his name. The important thing is he lied while under oath.

don't get me wrong, what George Bush jr. doing is bad, and worse than Clinton in many ways. But this thread isn't about that.

This thread is about the Clintons and what they did, or didn't do.

Sorry bout the jack, but I had to say it. You make "tha oath" sound like some creepy secret thingy from Harry Potter.

If I intend to lie, it "tha oath" gonna change things? They put a hand on the bible though they dont believe in God anyway. What a load of crap....

It isn't, but the penalties for doing so when caught might...

You might also want to review the oath someone takes when they get sworn in as President.

Not at the moment. Clinton was suspended from practicing law for five years for contempt of court. He is permanently disbarred from the Supreme Court.

                Funny... he was never convicted.

Why do the dumb care if Clinton lied about sex? Personally, there are more important things to worry about. It's okay to hate Clinton, don't get me wrong. I don't like the man. But to vilify him for this is stupid. Attack the man for his policies, not his sex life.

Sava, Sure he was. He cut a deal with the Federal prosecutors and was later held in contempt by the court hearing the Jones case.

But the issue here is not Bill Clinton who "lied about sex," which most people think is almost justified, but Hillary Clinton. She apparently is both dishonest and extremely ruthless. Do we really want a dishonest and ruthless person as president? The last one that clearly was like that was Richard Nixon. While to many he was a good president, he nearly tore this nation apart with his political corruption which stemmed from his dishonesty and ruthlessness.

no, not really. but on the other hand, bush's clique is both dishonest and ruthless. it seems as if wolfowitz, rumsfeld, and co. exaggerated the "immediate threat" that iraq presented; and to say that karl rove isn't ruthless, particularly in the areas of spinning, maintaining loyalty, targeting political visits and speeches...

The kind of ruthlessness that both Hillary and tricky **** have in common is the kind where one seeks out and destroys one's political enemies. To even begin to compare Hillary and trick **** to Bush is laugable.

Besides, all politicians puff and slant. What is different about Hillary and tricky **** is that they both appear to be calculating liars and ruthless political animals.

If Hillary ever decides to run for office, the first thing she will do is smear her Democrat opposition. Then she will run the dirtiest presidential campaign you can imagine. Finally, if elected, she will end up impeached, just like tricky **** -- for abuse of power.

paiktis, I assume that no Greek politician ever lies or abuses his power, right? Well we do have such politicians in the US, both Republican and Democrat. This is not an issue of ideology. This is an issue about character.

how has karl rove not done the same thing? what happened to mccain in south carolina? of course, it wasn't really ever traced back to bush...

or how about the tarring of several republicans simply because they didn't feel it was prudent to have a tax cut at this time by airing negative ads against them in their home districts?

how is karl rove not as ruthless when he targets all of bush's speeches and actions based on which demographic os important in an area? how is he not as ruthless when he breathes down the neck of congressional republicans, giving them the same ultimatum bush gave to other nations: either with us or against us?

Bill should not be allowed to handle Afghanistan: he will wimp out at first opportunity and make the situation even worse.

Bill is a peace time president.

Bush and Rove certainly are demanding politicians. But the "tarring" of political opponents is not the same as with Nixon and Hillary. The latter two used personal dirt to destroy the political opponent or Bill's girlfriend. Both sought to use Federal Agencies improperly to reward friends and destroy enemies. AFAIK, Bush has not done any thing of the kind.

I would also agree that Bush at times has gone too far in enforcing discipline in Republican ranks. It was just such a move that caused Jeffers to go independent and give control of the Senate to Daschle and his mirthless crew for two years. But, again, what Bush has done with fellow Repulicans pales in comparison to what Nixon and Hillary have done to their "enemies."
