Why do men have nipples & a petition to sign

This is the more interesting question, I think. Female breasts DO have a functionalty. What functionalty do the nipples of a man have? Apart from hurting which is the only time I really notice them.

There is also a petition I came across my search for the correct spelling of the word "nipple".
I recommend to sign it, since it seems a reasonable thing. The violence/sex TV morality is the last thing I can understand about modern society. We are so afraid of ourselves we rather watch a murder than a birth scene. Or what else is the attraction to violence and the distraction to sexuality?
