1) I'd really want to know how they determined how much farm animals fart.
2) What would they do if some farmer said his animals didn't fart that much?I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara
For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

In parts of the UK old landfill sties are a problem because of a build up of methane from the rotting rubbish. Where there is enough of it it is collected and used to power electricity generators.
Now if they could just plumb a few million sheep and cows into power stations NZ would be self sufficient in electricity without using any fossil fuels!Never give an AI an even break.

There's nothing wrong with these sorts of taxes, they are called Pigovian taxes. The whole point of them is to stop overuse based on externalities. The same goes for smoking.
In the case of fatty foods in places like Britain and NZ, we consume too much of them because we don't directly pay for health care, which encourages us to free ride.
Methane from cows is pollution just as smoke belching out of a chimney is. What's the problem?Only feebs vote.
