My second job is ground work with a tree service. Sometimes it feels great, but then you get one of those projects that leaves you bone weary.

The two best jobs for any new-to-the-workforce employee are:
        1) Anything involving manual labor or 2) Anything involving customer service.

I've done both and although the specific jobs sucked big time, you're hard-pressed NOT to develope an understanding of and respect for what menial laborers have to put up with day-in-day-out.
The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

I feel like an ******* for having putting down day laborers in the past after what I did today

The apocalypse will come before the revolution....... the capitalists will destroy america before we have our shot at it-just look at our current moron in the white house(note-before you ascribe me some hippy liberal-I have extreme views on both sides! I thought we should go to war, and supported the war).

If you're happy to work in a low-paying, hard labour job, silly fool you!

Of course it's not fair, but at the end of the day, just about anyone can do it! You can work your arse off, but in manual labour, you can hardly define yourself as being invaluable. Therefore, it pays crap.

It's no different to the government introducing a law that, in the most exclusive suburb in your city, it only costs $250,000 to buy a house. The very moment the law is revoked, prices will become just as high as they were before. In fact, they will probably go higher by virtue of the fact that some of the residents wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the law, creating even less supply for the same demand!

Artificially manipulating the price of something doesn't change the true value of something. As for manual labour, you can't work as hard as a horse, so there can be no demand for you as a labourer, so it ultimately pays whatever the employer can afford.

Not exactly what I heard your GF tell me..
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Well, I don't have a girlfriend at the moment, but I do have a girl with a fiance who is cheating on him with me.

But yeah, I do typically let the girl come first.
