This is strange. They fight a war for thier own independence from a central authority and then turn around and cede authority to a central authority.

        How is Bosnia great?

        Bosnia is .. different.

It already is a protectorate of EU so no issue there.. but it is still wild enough, nobody can claim things are 'under control'

War could start again tommorow. Or never. Who knows.

if war starts, we'll annex them... revolt risk of 3% is quite easily handled

No, not Bosnia. They were the last ones to believe in Yugoslavia. They believed in it still while nobody else did. The reason they fought the war is, they were attacked by the Serbs. They did not really want it.

                    DinoDoc,

Yeah.. you are right. Weird. But Croats are so traditionaly full of contempt for their own politicians they might prefer EU over the corrupt and inneficient system we have now.

But still, it is better then america

Come on Echtelion. Germans have been trashed by anti-wwII propaganda. you still feel guilty for wwII and all things related to it.

Once you leave it behind, you become great again.

In the sorry cases of Bosnia, FYROM, Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia, joining the EU could actually be a good thing. Then there would be a very serious chance that their infighting would eventually dismantle the EU and get us rid of it.

..or be a good case for a stronger centralised EU designed to handle such basket cases

But you may be right. I am not very fond of EU myself, apart from it alowing me to move to Netherlands or Sweden and exploit their welfare state

Echtelion a thumbs up from me to you for getting banned for mocking panag some time ago. At least some of us appreciated the humor of the situation
