    Yeah, Queensland's a bit of an administrative basket case. Jeff Miller, the new coach, was formerly - from memory - the Wallabies' High Performance Director, before he became the Chief Exec of the Reds. And now he's coach. Very odd progression. I imagine the full story of Andrew Slack's resignation one year into his contract will emerge in the fullness of time. He's on holidays over there. He rang them from over there to tender his resignation.

    The Reds were putting in the very hard yards chasing Lote Tuquiri - he's with the Waratahs, but originally from Brisbane and a big mate of Wendell's - but I suspect they've now lost any chance of getting him.

        Speaking of Lote Tuquiri, he's been given an off-field yellow card for punching against the Springboks. This is his third yellow card, and now faces disiplinary action from the ARU.

          Yep. It has already happened. No penalty. It probably helped that the card against the Boks was a joke.

            Also: Joe Roff is doubtful for both Aussie games against the ABs. Ruled out of the Sydney game, and is rated at 60-40 for the NZ leg.

              Yeah, bummer. It was odd. He came up feeling his chest after scoring the try last weekend. It looked like he'd winded himself falling on the ball or something.

                              New Zealand 52 Springboks 16

                              Woohoo! Seven tries to none! A record win!
                              In the beginning I was worried after SA got that penalty kick through and the crowd got behind them so enthusiastically. It took real mental toughness for the ABs not to allow that to affect them. I was a bit puzzled when shortly after SA got that penalty kick through in the beginning, NZ got a penalty and Carlos opted to kick from the sideline. I knew he would miss it as he usually does from there. Surely the better option would have been to kick for touch and go for the try. NZ really need to get a better goalkicker.

                              Aside from that the rest of the game was fantastic. I particularly liked that try from Howlett in which he had to tippy toe down the touchline without touching the corner flag. Great skills from him.

                              NZ will be firm favorites for the tri-nations now. I expect they will beat Australia in Sydney next week without too much trouble.
