The enemy was the EU? Huh. Care to share the entire story line with me, because I can't remember much more than killing those little defenceless men in the first level

Well, you play a soldier from the 'Pacific Federation' if I remember correctly, and in the game you re-enter from orbit to attack the enemies' 'anti-aircraft base in the alps', before going on to attack the enemy capital, which has a European look about it. The clincher is the EU flag in the room where you fight one of the pre-last boss bosses.

Can't believe I remember all that stuff, but it was a great game.

Like Ming, I, too, first experienced Civ on an SNES console. It hooked me, infuriated me (I probably spent $120 buying new carts after having fits and damaging the old carts) and eventually led to my purchase of Civ II for the Macintosh, which I play to this very day.

Another SNES game that has since transcended into *legend* was Chrono Trigger. God, that RPG rocked and rolled and had a unique and awesome premise (time travel to save a world from an out-of-this-world enemy). I now play CT on my PS1, along with its sequel, Chrono Cross, and am hoping rumors of a third Chrono game bear fruit soon!

Anyone ever play Liberty or Death on the SNES?

I agree. Crippling the wall jump in Metroid Fusion was a hideous crime.

Metroid is still the best game ever

I even played it when they had Rob the Robot

Can't remember which game that was

Sava! Thank god! Someone else who's played King Arthur's World!

Gets kinda tough later on...ah, well. Lotta good games, though -- what I particularly like is being able to play translated Japanese games on my emulator. Good stuff.

Super Earth Defense Force and TMNT: Turtles in Time are my current favourites.

Secret of Mana 2 is cool aswell, but I have no idea what i'm meant to do most the time, so just run around blindly...wo0t!

SED kicked ass, along with Super R-Type and UN Squadron

All time greatest game for SNES, however - was Final Fantasy 3
