If he's married to Liza Minelli, then he plays for both sides, so that's 0.5 point.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

It only matters insomuch as it has a profound impact on their lives and therefore art. Tchaikovsky is the prime example of this, as much of his life was driven by his turmoil over it.

Handel is a common rumor, though no reliable evidence exists, naturally. When asked about his love life, Handel replied "I have no time." He never married, but frequently traveled with a male friend.

Beethoven supposedly had a thing for his (adult) nephew, but it is also unsubstantiated, and conflicts with other rumors of his love for certain women.

Bernstein...well, many who knew him (like Copland) believed the gay side was home base. Hard to know for sure!

            ACK!
            What's so funny?

I can't do umlauts, so it should be Furtwaengler (pronounced "FOORT-vehn-glur")

Affectionately called Mr. Fartwrangler by some (idiots).

Now, in mono I have Furtwangler and the BPO--nearly half again as slow as Kleiber, but also unbeatable feeling.
I grew up on this one, so Kleiber, as great as it is, leaves me wanting.

Well, there are many who feel that Furtwangler will stand as the greatest interpreter of Beethoven, Wagner and Bruckner ever. Hard to say, but he seems to take the cake so far.
