  • Getting frustrated with Kodak Picture Disk...

I finally got the pictures from the prom developed and I figured i was being smart by getting a picture disk instead of getting doubles or possibly having to make more copies of some pictures in case people i photographed wanted copies and want not. I figured I'd just use the picture disk to make more copies.

But i can't get this thing to work. It loads up about half the pictures (upside down but it's alright) then says it can't read the rest of them. Apparently randomly (though I think me moving the mouse pointer over some pictures does it), some of these 'unreadable' pictures pop up but still a couple are not showing up.

Also, when i tried to save them as jpg's, most the jpgs were half pictures with the other half completely blank yet these same pictures are whole in the viewer.

Maybe I'm doing something horribly wrong. So what can I do?

    thanks

Kodak won't develop pictures of pornographic acts.

I decided to close the viewer and re-start it, hoping that it would magically start working but now I can't access the program again. Everytime, I try to run it, i am told the program can not be found! It was just working two minutes ago!

and when i use windows explorer to look in A:\ i am asked if i want the disk to be formatted!

what the hell should i do?

        thanks

I've found that all floppy disks are easily corrupted or damaged. what does running a thorough surface scan scandisk on the floppy tell you? Hopefully you can go back and get a replacement copy. Next time you recieve a floppy disk that has data you want the first thing you do should be to scan the disk and back up the data.

Or get a second or third copy.

It's either the disc or the drive. So check the disc in another drive that's known to work. If that works, it's the drive. If that doesn't, it's most likely your disc, so go bug the vendor for a new one.

Are you putting a CD-ROM into the floppy drive?

Also, make sure your disc is plugged in and your powersupply has enough moisture.

I thought these picture disks were all CD's.

How can they fit a load of images on a 1.38MB floppy? The quality has got to suffer pretty badly with all that compression.
