imagine that, the scientists is a Brit. They sure can be depressive can't they?

In any case he says there can be numerous ways an apocalypse happens. Some seem pretty far out. Supercolliders? While I don't know much about them aside from what I read in Discover magazine, I'm sure the scientists have done their calculations and figured that they won't vaporize matter or anything like that

But I often do wonder about how fast science is progressing. Especially in the biomedical field. Could they inadvertantly cause the apocalypse.
So what is your theory on how the earth will end for mankind (the earth will continue on as usual of course, at least until the sun envelopes it)?
I'll stick with the Asteroid thoery, it'll happen eventually. Although technology may find a solution to that, but currently we lack the technology to do anything to prevent an asteroid from hitting earth. A volcano may be nearly as high, as they seem to get lower priority. Not as many people study volcanos, as they do space.
