Btw, why is it, that ONE of the thread links points at a real thread, while the other links just points to the same site
This space is empty... or is it?

Yeah, for some reason the fake "Happy Birthday Muxec and Slowwhand" thread is a link to this weeks Euro football prediction thread.
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

              oops, mistake. I fixed it.

and Andz: yes I read Emmanuel Todd some weeks ago. before I was reading The Grand Chessboard by Zbigniew Brzezinski. a must read in my opinion. Todd refers to him alot in his book. I even considered posting about these two books on poly.
I like Todd's pointe against Brzezinski: if you play chess, make sure your rival isn´t a Russian

I pondered reading that book as well.

can you recommend more counterparts to the nowadays so popular anti-US writers?

                    Kissinger?

I've read the clash of civs before, so the Huntington box can be checked

not really, I don´t even know Huntington. an interesting read could be Emmanuel Todd again, that book where he forsaw the fall of the sovjet empire.
well, now you know where my inspiration comes from in your 2004-thread.

yeah, but how did you know it? I mean, I'm not even sure if I'd posted it before...

BTW, I wouldn't like to read Todd again right now, what I want is counterparts... not the same lefty crap again and again, I despise all this anti-war and anti-US sh!t

you did. my first idea was giving this thread to any French poster, Spiffor for example. then I saw you mentioning him and I made you the poster of this ultra-lefty author.

                            heh.

reading the current Woodward one these days... felt so intellectual when I bought them, but they're so "in" anyway... just like all the ranting about those poor people
