I'm sure any Swedish government would support the Baltic side. It would be a major clusterfukc. Sober up and reconsider. So get your Naomi Klein books and move it or I'll seriously bash your faces in! - Supercitizen to stupid students

I could understand if the Falkland War made Argentina think twice about changing the conscription system. According to a book I read, their army organisation really sucked. They had no overlapping training classes, so almost 100% of the army joined and left at the same time. That meant that most of the grunts who were sent to the Malvinas had only 3-4 months training, while the British Paras and Marines had several years. More to it, the officers were so afraid of their own troops that they requested to the Brits that they should be allowed to keep their side arms in order to defend themselves agains their own men when they were POWs. Such things would never happen in Sweden.
Anyone knows if the Argentinians changed their organisation after that?
In 1994 (or was it 96) the conscription was thrown out and the army was completely restructured. The TAM tank is the major tank piece replacing older european/american tanks. For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

The Baltics are our friends. I wouldn't trust Belarus or a backlashing Russia though. If any of them decided to attack the Baltics, Sweden would join the Baltic side for sure. And me and my dog would have to go looking for Spetznaz around the radar station. So get your Naomi Klein books and move it or I'll seriously bash your faces in! - Supercitizen to stupid students
