Having said all of that, NY is still a huge market, and probably should have a 3rd team. That would do a helluva lot more than "revenue sharing" or a "luxury tax"

Where would ya put it? In a borough or Long Island or Jersey?

Probably Jersey. But perhaps Brooklyn, for old time's sake.

I know it won't happen. Steinbrenner would go ballistic (which would please most of the other owners) but so would Wilpon. It's the same old **** that Angelos is pulling w/regard to moving the Expos to Washington. And in the end, it all goes back to Baseball's special congressional anti-trust exemption, doesn't it? I say get rid of that.

NY can support 3 teams. I say move the Devil Rays up there and call 'em the Brooklyn Bums.

              Hahah... Devil Rays .

Yeah, the owners 'area' exemption will hurt any new NY team. It worked for the Mets, because they were moving in the NL. But, IIRC, don't other sports have those designated areas as well? I think the NFL does, but they aren't as large as the baseball ones.

Actually I get the impression Arsenal are the most arrogant team right now; they finish second and still declare themselves the best team in the league.

I think you are right. An attitude problem about being successful will get you far more hatred than either winning or money.

I don't support Man U but I would say I would rather watch them play because generally more happens in the game. There's more going on to hold my interest.

It's gotta be more than just money, otherwise I'd have no reason to hate Duke and Notre Dame or any other college team.

It's winning that makes people hate a team. Nobody hates Sheffield Wednesday, because they suck and they loose all the time.

It sucks being a Wednesday supporter, it really does.
