Your morals and ethics

Not really. I'm not being asked for doing any acting.
Group of people I know are putting up a business, and they know my situation and have asked me if I want to be part of it, doing various jobs. It will have strict rules for keeping actors safe, 0% tolerance for drugs, health things consider, everybody getting their fair share of possible income, everyone being treated good. But I just don't know.. I am attempted very much, I don't want to do this for the rest of my life, but as for now for a while, I think it could be cool. But on the other hand my other side is telling me that if I do this, I'll go to hell

I know it sounds stupid, but that's the way I am.

**note** not all the companies in the American health care industry are immoral... most are decent. Running a fair business is one thing, but if you saw some of the stats on the markups on medical equipment that I've seen, you'd understand.

feminists consider porn as immoral and they don´t use religious arguments for this. officially they say, this kind of business degrades women. I´m rather sure at least some of them are just jealous.
I once witnessed public a discussion with several artists about porn and cencorship, where people claimed in a comprehensive way, that this kind of jealousy even influenced christianity in their view on sex. old angry monks couldn´t stand that young beautiful adonis-boys get all the girls they would never get.
writing these lines Michel Houellebecq comes into my mind. anyone read something by him?

I like porn like the guy next to me, no problem, I don't see anything wrong with that. As long as I'm not treating women bad. I know reality, and that it's not 'real'. I think it's entertainment business for ADULTS, kids get the wrong idea and warped minds. But it's made for ADULTS. But still, something inside me still argues that this is immoral.

I wouldn't run on a prostitution or pornography business, but I would run say, a bar or a casion, or even a drug place if that were legal.

Well I don't think it degreades women. Sure, there might be businesses that don't treat their stars good, but hey that's bad business. I know these guys and know for a fact, that the ladies are held high when working and their needs are important and that we want to keep them in good feelings about us. So no, they wouldn't drug them up and make them have sex with 10 guys.

They get more money than the men, they're the stars, and when it comes to my buddies, it's up to the ladies. No one is forced to do anything. I think that's quit clear if you want to do good business. It degrades women as it degrades men too, or then it doesn't degrade anyone.
If someone is hurt because some people are having sex and taping it and then selling it.. well then DON'T BUY IT!

Right now, my only dilemma is that my religious conscious is somehow hitting me in the head. I can make arguments and justify this for sure and then make other businesses immoral se well starting from cigarette, booze, gambling, sports and what not.

Kind of funny though, I have no moral problems being a soldier and doing combat.. and that's about killing people. This is about legal product that huge masses buy and not directly hurting anyone. Maybe I'm just brainwashed.

Oerdin, there's no chance in hell I would ever tell this.. but then again she doesn't have to know, and I'm not the one acting anyway. Just doing normal work pretty much, but the business is .. unique.

And I couldn't do this for too long, but for a while. Mainly because of possible salary and income.

I guess you should decide which you could live with more; not supporting yourself and being a lazy bum that doesn't want to work because all the jobs you get offered have something wrong with them OR in the porn industry.

Personally, I think you could find something else. Then again, there is the mean time, inbetween time... I don't think that you, Pekka of all perverted ppl, really find this a moral dilema. I think you just feel that you are to good for this position, and don't want to get sucked ( ) into something that you might a) not want to get out of, b) might not have the chance to get out of, c) are embaressed of, and/or d) view as below you.

Sorry, if I pose anything that seems to read into you too much, but from what I have seen of you on these pages suggests that it is one of the above and not really your own morals...

Japher, thanks for the post. No, you have evaluated the situation incorrectly. I wouldn't mind working in this business, and I wouldn't be doing this for the rest of my life, this I know for sure. This is not against MY moral views. But I just think that.. I don't want to be categorized as the guy who does porn, ok? Sure, I don't mind, but I want to be remembered for doing something else too, it's not a good story for grandchildren you know.. well maybe when they're over 18 but anyway.

This is how I see myself 1. Fail to get into the Uni I want to 2. go to porn business 3. after doing that for a while -> career soldiering and combat 4. HELL
