I wouldn't even bother with the tube, I'd walk from Charing Cross station.

    • Yeah, but its an arse to get there as well. I'd come in to Victoria usually.

      • You could walk down the Mall.

Last time I was in London I was in Chandos and had to get to the Astoria sharpish. I walked south to Charing Cross and got the tube to Tottenham Court Road. Looking back it'd have been quicker to walk!

          • I walked from London Bridge to Lincoln's Inn Fields yesterday. All those nice cars, and nowhere to drive them.

            • My concern is that Azazel is some sort of giant...I saw a picture of him with Sirotnikov and Taurus and he looked like some sort of child molester

              • Furthest I've walked in London is from Charing Cross Road to Commonwealth Hall (near St Pancras).

I've seen people get on the tube at Covent Garden and get off at Leicester Square. I've also seen people get on at Charing Cross and get off at Embankment. Now they are real stupid trips to make.

                  • If you don't know how to get there, it can be quite a sensible idea

I've walked from South Kensington to Lewisham.

                      • I suppose if they were changing lines it might just about be understandable. If not, they want a brick throwing at their heads. The stupidest thing I've done is to get Thameslink through to Blackfriars only to have to walk back past City Thameslink to meet a friend on Fleet Street...

                          • Ah, I'll never forget the day when I went to Victoria to meet a friend, waited at the station, hada bomb-scare, all routes diverted, all tube lines closed and was forced in the end to walk to London Bridge to come straight home again. That was fun. Only to have the train overloaded to the point where it wouldn't run. And the announcement comes over the tannoy "Would people please get off the train, if you stay on, its not moving". And nobody moves. ****ers. So everyone gets off and we wait another hour. Oh how we laughed.

Only about 10 miles. I'm used to walking, do you not remember Leeds? You guys just didn't want to walk anywhere!

The longest I have walked in one go is Dartford to Sevenoaks in the middle of the night after all the buses and trains had stopped running. I could have got a cab but fancied the walk (and was out of cash).
