I've been looking to get a telescope for a while, and I found one for cheap. It is a Meade Celestial 127mm, DS-127-EC, electronic motorized base, includes software. Fairly new and been used only 6 times. It's $500. Is this a good deal? How much would this cost new?

all i can say is 'wow', my toy for the next couple of years is either the 10 inch Meade Gps or a 20' Dob. The problem I've got is that having a 8' Dob at the moment, I'm very reluctant to spent another 2500 quid on a similar apperture scope, so it's looking like the big Dob and an EQ platform. I just wish I could stretch to the 12', that would make a nice compromise.....Comment

you can read a newspaper with one of those a couple hundred yards away , ....

the harbor lights are still to bright , .....
he would have to find a darkspot outside like right in between ashD and ashK , ......
the best for him would be to drive on route 40 and stop half way inbetween kiryat g and beerS , ....
what a bunch of work to look at the stars , ...
