Ok so.......manufactured house or home?

are there tornados where you live? I would never live in one of those in tornado country.

It may be worth it if you have no other choice and are set upon getting the land. You could always get a house later. Ultimately that would be more expensive of course as selling the manufactured home won't net you any money. But if you can't get together the loan needed for a regular house it may be worth looking into. And perhaps later build your own home.

Invest in a storm cellar of some kind.
Buy smoke detectors and good insurance.
Fire eats them up fast.
Other than that, they're much better than they used to be.
