Anyone know anything of this ?

Be wary of people who can't spell Introduction.

        I didn't notice that, and you're right.

I shudder at the thought of returning to internet explorer.

            Oh yeah, me too.

Safari and Mozilla are so much better.

And Opera, don't get me started on how wonderful its CSS and JS support is.

Safari works, and it works well. When was the last time you used it?

About half an hour ago while it was called Konqueror.

It doesn't work well, it still has major compatibility issues.

Oh yeah, I forget how good IE is compatible with "standards," when those "standards" are just things that IE could do documented by MS.

Standards are what most web developers use.

Again, I don't see why the W3C standards should be followed to the letter when in some cases they went out of their way to make their standards different from what MS had already had implemented.

Standards, as I discuss them, are openly documented and available for anyone to develop around on the web and most websites use it. When 95% of web users use IE, that becomes the standard.

Simple logic, once you realize that paper standards from the W3C mean precisely nothing.

Welcome to the real world, UR.

I remember in the olden days where we were supposed to be HTML 2.0 compatable and were expected to make sure Lynx users could still use the site.

http://sleague.apolyton.net/ works in Opera. It doesn't work in MSIE. Ergo, MSIE has inferior CSS support.

No, see, that's your website and you're an Opera fanatic.

You made it in such a way that it doesn't render properly in IE.

Which is really stupid, by the way...

                            i like opera.

sure, it's not as stable nor as supported. but hell, talk to me when ie gets mouse gestures.

oh, and have bookmarks which are interchangable between linux and windows.

Asher, have you even USED Safari??? It's intuitive and I've NEVER run across a website that it had anything resembling a serious problem with. Plus it's fast. Are you sure this is a battle you want to fight?
