  • How do you write to a CD-R?

    Keep trying but get message, "requested resource is in use".

    The secret is to use a very fine-tipped pen to scratch out pits on the underside of the CD.

      Switch off all your CD players etc. In fact shut down every application you aren't using to see if they free it up.

        Is the disc a multisession compilation? Does it use packet writing? If it's not a multisession compilation or it doesn't use packet writing, it's toast. You can alter the data after that. What did you exactly do when that occured?

                  1. Close all applications and eject the CD-R.
                  2. Restart the PC (unless impossible as a public PC; whatever that means in this case).
                  3. When you enter Windows, insert the CD-R and open the burning software. Then burn the files.
