    a ray of hope on the peninsula?

    again with the olympics.
    remember the 2000 sydney olympics, when the two walked out as one under a blue banner with a white outline of the peninsula?

    was beautiful, no?

    well, in the midst of all of this ****e going on between south and the north, at least somebody is willing to be friendly.

            Interesting. Sometimes sports can bridge political chasms. Remember the Chinese's "ping pong diplomacy" in the 1970's...

                At least, it appears the populations don't hate each other. It is the main thing needed in order to solve the crisis in a definitive way, once the diplomats have managed to sort the situation out...

                (This appreciation of each other is what lacks between Israel and Palestine for a peace process to be successful without massive yippy-skippy efforts from both authorities)

                    I loved that scene in the Olympic March of Nations, there were HUGE cheers for the Koreans and the newly independent East Timor. If the to nations become one I wonder what the flag will really be like; South Korea's or a new one?

                        i'm willing to bet probably a version of the south's; as that flag, the taegukki was also the flag of the independent/free korean rebellion while under japanese rule.
