I wonder if trying to destroy the money supply would do it (and I mean electronically as well as physically)
I mean, what would happen if trillions of dollars dissappeared out of all of the banks (and did not have a possiblility of reentering the economy)

The destruction of capitalism? To be replaced with what???
Where do you think your standard of living would be without it??
"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003
Oh, goody. There's been a noticeable lack of Death of Capitalism/Democracy threads.
Thanks, Jon. You saved the day.

As far as the United States goes, there's a lot of gold lying around that's not being used to give value to the currency. It would take a lot to destroy the monetary flow inside the United States.

It really comes down to whether the govts and the CBs would be able to get things going again. So far they have been able to. Some day I think that things will become unfixable.

The nature of Capitalism will never go away. There will always be someone willing to sell you something.
If you are referring to the American system... well that isn't even true Capitalism.
Technically, whenever a new party wins the presidential election, there is a revolution.
You must define what you are talking about. Most of the commies on this board aren't talking about a political system per se, but more a change in the values of humanity. A revolution could not accomplish such a drastic value change. You can't put a government in place that will make people stop being greedy and make them care about their fellow humans. The only thing government can do is create an environment where people have an equal opprotunity to enjoy life. The American system is good, but could be better.
Good point! To destroy capitalism, we must merely destroy the Illuminati, and their alien overlords! That's a helluva lot easier than taking everybody's money and burning it...

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio
