Interesting, I also share your obsession for having absolutly clean hands. I must wash whenever i believe in any way i have comprimised thier cleanness. If i play table football at work (there is a table football table which many play on,some ppl have sweaty hands) I will refuse to eat anything until my hands have been washed.

    Funny that
    Cheers

It's not an obsession but I diffenently don't want to touch food with my hands unless I've washed them.

Who was that famous guy with Oerdin's paranoia?? He was famous for always needing clean hands, washing frequently, etc. I think his name sounded like Jimmy Hoffa or Hugh Heffner but I can't remember his name for certainty. Was it Howard Hughes, the Spruse Goose creator?

Oh, and to answer the first question, "whatever doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger" (can't even remember the famous guy who said that!)

There was a tv show with a detective who was absolutely paranoid of touching anything which might have germs.

BTW I've eatten fried grasshoppers, BBQed rats, raw fish, and a million other things most people would turn their noses up at so it's not like I won't try new things. I just follow the same procedures most health care workers do to prevent infection.

              It is rather funny.

It is common knowledge that germs and bacteria cannot live in alcohol, so I make sure that my blood is always saturated with that stuff.

Just have your company change their attendance policy similar to what they've done at my company. Instead of sick days, we now have personal days. (10 a year) and you can take them for whatever reason. Now no one is ever too sick to come into work because they don't want to waste their personal days being sick.
That's messed up. The company I am at has unlimited sick days. Actually, every company I have worked for since I have gotten out of college has had this policy. You would actually be amazed, however, at the number of sick days ppl actually take... In fact ppl at the company even have so many vacation days coming that some are forced to take a vacation, or trade the days in for pay.

Well we had contingencies for Long term illness, but prior to personal days, on your performance review you were graded on # of occurances instead of number of days (up to a certain day count). Which was incredibly stupid. Once you took a single day sick, you might as well take a second and a third day. It all counted as one occurance.

My problem with that is then people come in when they are sick, and that has a better chance of making me sick.

i was merely answering a question to someone who wanted an answer for. I didnt say anything much about him

Rah, what happens if some gets sick for 11 days during a particular year? (doctor's note on 11th day?)
                            :-p

If it's a long term illness, you would take the day without pay but be reimbursed by the long term illness insurance. If it wasn't quite legitimate , either unpaid or used as a vacation day.

The nice part is if you don't use all ten, you get reimbursed for 1/2 pay for those days at the beginning of the next year. So it encourages you to show up.

And for those that say you want people to stay home when sick, nice sentiment but there are enough people that come into work when they're sick under either method. (those workaholics, those that get sick a higher percetange than others, and mothers that have to take days when their children are sick and end up having no days left when they're ill.)
