Ned: I'm very wary of any wireless technology. Weather really f*cks up my friend's satelite dish. Cell phones are unreliable. And my cordless phone picks up my neighbor's baby monitor.

I agree Ming. What's happening on the state level in Illinois is the same thing happening on the national level. Both parties suck because they are corporate wh0res.

What a mess up. There is a reason why 'true' capitalism promotes and wants competition, so prices get lower. You give one company a monopoly and of course prices rise... but no one thinks of the consumers.

So much for checks and balances... they just did an end run.
Yeah, that is just how I feel...about a republican WH, a republican congress, and a conservative Court. The whole coutnry getting screwed, while we are geeting crap for our money..

The only thing I can hope is that Illinois Coalition for Competitive Telecommunications can get this law blocked.

Democracy in this state is really taking a beating. We've got two corrupt parties.

For once I have to agree with Sava. It REALLY sucks to be from Illinois right now. The RINO Republicans have shot themselves in the foot so many times that a Democrat win was inevitable, but Blowhardevich and his cronies are no better.
I was surprised that AT&T, MCI didn't mount a better counter-attack to the full-court press put on by SBC. Hopefully it won't be as bad as Sava makes it out to be, but with as much influence peddling going on that there was, this can't be good.
