Should I become a Republican?

It's too late for me to register for the primaries in philly in the end of May but that wouldnt really matter... straight forward who is running for mayor and there's two Republicans who are squabbling for city council seats but I dont know anything about either of them anyway so I shouldnt vote in that primary anyway

No, the probem is that at Newsmax you get the extreme right of the extreme right. For 'those' people, anyone who might have any sligthly different viewpoint all of a sudden is a Satanist (are you an aethist? cause that really would send them off).

I am pretty much agnostic. I believe in God and I think that humans are divine but I refuse to use the Bible as the sole basis of morality and living one's life. I don't think God is of any concern in our day to day lives.

I was called a Satanist when I mentioned my belief that humans are divine and that, as a result, we should determine our own moral codes not be slaves to the Bible... I even quoted Psalm 82 (which describes men as being 'as God' and able to judge morality) but they referred to me as the Snake in Genesis

half the people there are standard republicans but the rest are complete nuts...

I feel the same way, and told my roommate in college the same thing, and called me an atheist. I reminded him that I believe in god, so he called me the devil. Made no sense... He was a born again Baptist, after testing the Catholic waters though.
