      I was for the war, but if we don't stop the warlords the Kahrzi government might colapse. we created this mess in the 70's, we should pump those warlords full of lead and put more of our men as MP's until Kahrzi gets a competent army and poloce force, then let them elect their own local leaders.

              I was not too wild aboutt he war in Afghanistan, if because I didn't think in the long run it would achieve terribly much. Al qaeda certainly was hurt badly, but not terminally. As for the Taliban, they were also hurt badly, but again, not terminally.

              I think there is still time to do more good in Afghanistan, to go beyond just "revenge", but sadly, I think the US will not pay the attention necessary over time.

                Gepap, that is cyncial. The US will continue to pay attention because it cannot afford not to. And by the way, the Taliban is not coming back. If they even try to regather they will be strafed with A-10 fire and sent back to the caves.
