  • What's on your bookshelf?

If you can, take a picture of it and/or give us a rundown of what's on it, or at least the gist of it.

Attached is a picture of my bookshelf (or at least the top two shelves, since the bottom shelf has books I haven't read in like...12 years and will eventually be displaced by more "interesting technical manuals" ). Also have a whole ton of textbooks I don't use very often (psychology, economics, history, philosophy of logic, linear algebra, calculus, discrete mathematics, etc) in boxes in the basement so they don't take up space. But anyway:

All the bookshlef in our house have double lines of books, unless the books are in crates, or in one of at least half a dozen large book boxes in storage, so it would take too long to write down what was asked.

    Man, what a boring bookshelf

Imagine 16 shelves of books (one taken by CD's and Tapes), all but 2 witha double row of books, with extra books stuffed above these, each shelf holding an average of 50-60 pieces (for a total of about 900-1000 books, magazines). 4 shelf at elast are novels of all types, several mroe filled with history and political books, and some cookbooks.

                There.

I got books laying around everywhere... but where my lamp is, is where most of them are:

                    Executive Orders - Tom Clancy
See No Evil - Robert Baer
Ronald Reagan (American Life) - Autobiography (Reagan)
The Book of Honor: Covert Lives and Classified Deaths At the CIA - Ted Gup
Art of War - Sun Tzu
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

I don't do much (or any, to be more precise) reading aside from the technical stuff. And lots of the technical stuff is online now.

Most of my computer books are in the basement or the other study. There's only so much good that one can draw out of Visual Basic 4 Unleashed.

Why would I need to own it? After all, I had written it myself on this very computer.
