  • How do you pay for your life?

I was wondering what all you people do for a living so if you want, just go ahead and tell us what you do and how you got there.

I, for one, studied in administration.
My first job after school was in a bank, Bank of Montreal that is, as a loan’s officer, and I studied Mutual funds at nights. After 2 and a half I got tired of working for the f**cking bank of Montreal because they don’t give a **** of their customers so I decided to apply else where while keeping my job since I had completed my course in Mutual funds.
I found a job at Scotia Bank as an enterprise solutions consultant and worked there for 3 years and a half also….until the bank started to cut in spending….I lost my job because I was the last one in in my departement…I loved that job….
So I had to look for another job. I found this one, industrial coordonnator. I like it pretty much but it’s to freakin slow, not enough to do.
What I really want to work in is cars, I think that I will become a car broker part time and start a business out of it someday. I mean, I can find anycar outhere….why wouldn’t I use my knowledge ofr something I like? Right?

    And what about you?

I work part time at a liquor store selling cigs and booze to underage teenagers.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

I edited the title so it would make sense

I'm a student now. When I'm finished with my masters thesis sometime in the summer I'll go for unemployment and live of my girlfriends student loans.

Yes, that's why I checked the thread out. I figured I might be closing it based on that title.

And to answer the question. I'm an IT Director for one of the world's largest market research firms.

I think my employment issues have been adequately documented elsewhere on this board...

I get a stipend for doing computer science research. I'll be graduating with my master's or doctorate or somethingoranother one of these years, at which point I'll go and find a real job.
