Yes this article only describes one specific commitee of the UN, i.e the commitee for human rights.

Why would that have been parody? It's true, Ali G's show was the last memory I have which states how many members the UN has (And it was a UN worker who said it), so it makes sense to recall that memory.Comment

I think the reason why this comittee is such a joke. In reality, no country wants to be bothered with human rights and they only want to blame the others, to further their political agenda.

Interesting debate: the article shows how the member states in the UN don't take its mission seriously and use it to politic and further their own interests without regard for the proposed function of the committee...and that is somewho the committee's fault?
So the 53 members, who utterly ignore the purpose of the committee, they are fine, its the org. that sucks...
I have never understood this, well, absurd line of argument.
