  • School Shootings

What happened to them? I havent heard of one happening in a long time, not that its good news but I just feel like the media has been ignoring them as of lately.

    Where have you been?

    Pa. Principal Killed By Eighth-Grader

Of course, AFAIK, none reached the death toll of Columbine. (Plus, the media has so many other stories to overreport now, anyway) There was that German(?) school shooting a while back that was widely reported.

Am I seeing a pattern that isn't there, or do most of these shootings happen in the springtime, as opposed to Fall or Winter?

to put a dark humorous spin on it, i think it has something to do with pollen.

after all, wouldn't inhaling a whole bunch of plant ...ah... ejaculate... piss you off too? there's good precedent, as well. it's been the cause of one psychotic episode after another in all bad sf tv shows.

on a more serious note, perhaps it has more to do with stress? builds up all year, and then...

It just boggles me because most school shootings are blamed on video games and there have been a lot of violent games coming out lately.

maybe its because Ozzy is getting old

Edan: it was nearly exactly one year ago (april 26), 16 victims including the murderer. Since then fortunately nothing similar happened.

as long as you dont timewarp back to the 80's you can go on top of the asian run casino, and jump over the edge and land on the slanted facade of the building. while there, you just whip out your favoprte weapon (sniper, rocket, carbine will do), and start massacreing civilians. when the feds / cops come, they wont be able to hit you at all, and the choppers can be eaily dispatched.

I've sometimes wondered if Columbine and other shootings made the bully types ease the pressure on nerds a bit - just because of fears that one day those nerds would snap. Of course, since I survived junior high and live in a different country anyway I have nothing to base this on, but oh well.

I think they gave up reporting US school shootings; they're so common they just don't get the ratings any more...

Anyway, for those who deliberately ignored missed the latest school shooting...

A 14-year-old boy has killed his head teacher in a shooting incident at a school in the American state of Pennsylvania, before turning the gun on himself.

Police officers were called to the Red Lion Junior School shortly before the start of lessons following reports of gunfire in the school cafeteria.

They found two victims - the student and the school principal, Dr Eugene Segro.

The principal was taken to hospital, but pronounced dead on arrival.

The police say the boy, who has not been named, had come to school carrying several handguns.

A number of other students were in the cafeteria at the time of the shooting - they are receiving counselling.

At this stage there is no indication of a possible motive.

This is the latest in a string of fatal shootings at American schools.

It comes almost exactly four years after the killings at Columbine High School in Colorado in which 14 students and a teacher died.
