I got that one. Being the type of goverment I am, I voted against goverment interference. I chose the third option.

The only effects might have been more civil rights- but probably not. I have an interesting blur in my description. It says a notoriously racist show is the #1 show in my nation. . I just don't believe in the goverment regulating that sort of stuff.

Mismanagement? Mismanagement? The Sovietskii Soyuz would talk to me about mismanagment!? I've never seen such a corrupt and backwards country as the Sovietskii Soyuz before!

If you think Ubinia is being mismanaged, I will take it as a compliment.

      In other news:

I have recieved more complaints from the illegal corporations - now they're complaining about marijuana use making people un-productive and stealing from their vending machines, and want to make it illegal to use in public places.

I, of course, deny this! I'm not going to to help these despicable corporations control and opress my people!

This may seem out of line for a libertarian. But I feel the company has the right to not have people smoking pot on their private property. Although unfortunately the response wasn't worded like that I believe. I think it was an all out ban- which I think hurt my civil rights. But property rights are a big part of my libertarian goverment. If the company owns the land, then they can dictate what happens on there.

Again my country is a best case scenario. We all know what would happen in real life if companies dictate what goes happens on their private property. But ideally my workers should have the pick of the litter. They can go to another company that has better rules if they don't like it.

I let them, as they said, in public, people see you anyway. I would rather have my people being safe, than have them unseen and injured. I put it to a plebiscite (as I had already decided, on my advisors recommendation) and they agreed I had made the right choice.

Nicely done, Akiria wholeheartedly commends your action.

Likewise, a well thought out (if slightly unexpected) decision. I do not agree with denying the people what they want, but I do not believe my people would have chosen the death penulty without much coertion and scare tactics by an opponent.

I agree, buying votes is very much against democracy IMHO. I just wish the founders of NS believed so.

Seems a little drastic to me. You would force your people to do away with clothes? Even people who feel upset about their bodies? Surely that will cause much depression, and it seems you arfe talking the place of corporations in this matter, in that you're forcing them into an action they may not want. I urge you to reconsider.

Overall, Akiria supports the decisions of Ubinia. However, we feel that your position on nudity went to far, and though we realise it is your decision, we urge you to reconsider.

What is it you object to so strongly? Which decision was wrong? What would you have liked to have seen?

Precisely. Once we do away with clothes, and people get used to it, there will be no more of that nonsense.

I'm not oppresing my people by making nudity compulsory, I am freeing them from the confines of their clothes and the oppresive mentality that goes along with it.

((By the way, about the corporations buying votes, it makes sense that that would hamper political freedom, because true freedom would be the absence of any laws or regulations.))

                  !!!

I came back from the new years party totally wasted, an apparently dealt with an issue. I don't remember what and its already enforced: "same-sex marriages are increasingly popular". Now that sounds good, but what disturbs me was that I wasn't exactly in a sane state of mind when I read the issue. It could of been much worse! I could have outlawed pol freedom because I was drunk!

                            • lol. my children are the most foul-mouthed of the region. I take that as a compliment.

The death penalty has been reintroduced, euthanasia is legal, the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, and Dissidents's children are widely acknowledged as the most foul-mouthed in the region. Crime is relatively low. Dissidents's national animal is the Wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the dollar.

                              • I like this one because it mentions Apolyton- my region. Now who are the dictatorships in Apolyton?

                                The Issue
It's time for the government to allocate spending for the coming year, and as always, special interest groups are keen to have their say.

                                The Debate
"The state of the education system is, in many areas, simply frightful," says Teachers Union leader Pip Licorish. "And even where we are doing well, we could do better. I appeal to the authorities for a substantial boost in funding. Remember, the children are our future."
                                [Accept]

"We won't have a future unless we improve police numbers and rebuild the military," says General Dave King. "Oh, it's all well and good to have your fancy education and your nice cars, until some tinpot dictatorship decides to invade. And don't pretend like there aren't any of them in Apolyton. Our number one priority has to be security."
                                [Accept]

"Education is nice, but Health and Social Welfare are more important," says celebrity social worker Clint Dodinas. "This is where the people who really need government help are: the marginalized of our society. If we don't help them, what kind of a nation are we?"
                                [Accept]

"Hey, I've got a crazy idea," says noted libertarian and bird-watcher Buffy Falopian. "How about the government stops taking so much tax from people? Give us a tax cut and we'll buy the things we need ourselves. People need to be weaned off the government teat!"
                                [Accept]
