IC: all was quiet agian, General Hammersely and General Golding were still surveying the front ahead. They looked at each other and both had a perlexed look upon hteir faces.

The mobile phone of Hammrsely rang and he fumbled into his pocketto get it.

      "Hammersely here"

"General we are still awaiting your latest report, when are you going to launch your attack on Hoshem?" asked the HQ scribe.

"Inform HQ that there will be no attack on Hoshem."

There was a pause whilst this message was relayed. Then a different voice came on the line.

"General, this is Field Mashall Smith, please repeat last message, when is the attack on Hoshem planned for."

"Sir there will be no attack on Hoshem...." he was cut off by swearingon hte other end.

"Wha tdo you mean no attack, your boyds become cowards? Move them in take on hte Hive."

"sir , you dont understand, their is no enemy to attack!!"

      "Come again General??"

"Sir the Hive have retreated during the night and have left helter skelter. Notsure why sir, they outnumbere dus in htat city 10 to one."

"Hang on!" the phone went quiet whilst this situation was discussed. After 15 minutes the Scribe returned to the phone.

"General , oyur orders are to follow the Hive to FCL borders. Make sure it is a complete pullout. Aid and assist the locals in whatever they need. Azani leadrship has been informed of the victory i nthe west."

I think that's pretty much the last you'll see of Organ Enema in this conflict.

                      Any previous cites?

Besides, there's no way Western Apolyton could have the capacity to house your bombers. Remember, it just popped up in the middle of a war.

                          ABC NEWS of the World

The latest news from Azan is that the Advancing Auldonina/Free Azan armour brigades have been halted in their march to Hoshem. The roads are literaly full of mines and antipersonel booby traps. Every bridge along the main highway has been destroyed and military HQ have revealed satelite pictures showing that he great river running thorugh Hoshem has had the ancient bridges totally destroyed.

Auldonina are flying in an Engineering Corp to start making some crossings of th eriver possible.

Specialist troops are now being rushed into the vilalges and citys along the highway to find the mines and boobie traps left behind.

Reports indicate that many local vilalgers have died or been injured after accidently discovering the boby traps.

                              Tal Zach, FCL regional HQ

Major General Momotaro overlooked the map of the theater of operations. Recent news indicated that the coalition had advanced far up into Hive/FCL holdings. The Hive forces were losing ground fast, Coalition troops were landing at the port in Roshem, and it was only a matter of time before they started attacking the eastern front held by the FCL military.

The General was frustrated by General Frankychan's unwillingness to send in more troops. "We need our main forces to defend the homeland....no reinforcements. I've provided you with all the materiel you need" was the General's response to more men. What troubled Momotaro the most were recent reports indicating that the commander in Roshem had sent out a message indicating the surrender of FCL soldiers in that city.

A staff officer interrupted the general's train of thought.

"Sir, I am pleased to report that we have finished laying mines and other explosives around the perimeter of T.Z. We have anti-tank weaponry stationed at various points throughout the perimeter as well. Also, our anti-aircraft weaponry is online...anything flying near T.Z. better have parachutes cause it'll be shot down."

General Momotaro nodded. Tal Zach had effectively become a standing fortress inside Azan. The local population was their ace in the hole...and Momotaro's orders to enact martial law was having moderate success.

If they want this city so bad, let's see them try and take it.

                              --------

                              Roshem, FCL Divisional HQ

The megaphone blast filled the air with a sound that filled Colonel Murphy with a sense of both relief and fear. The allies received his message, after all. The colonel nodded with satisfaction.

                              This hell is finally over.

A scout ran into the HQ and saluted sharply.

"Sir, we have confirmed that the enemy has received your message. We have sightings from our men that the Karakasian military are the ones broadcasting that message on the megaphone. They're carrying a large flag.

The Colonel nodded, then sighed deeply.

                              "Take me to their location."

                              --------

The Colonel surveyed the city as his jeep and two escort jeeps drove throught the city. The pavement was torn in chunks and the debris was scattered everywhere. Small fires burned from burned-out cars and buses. The buildings were riddled with bullet holes and parts were missing where grenades and other explosives detonated.

Every once in a while, he saw an FCL soldier. As his convoy passed, they got up dazed looking and gave a salute. The Colonel sharply returned their salutes.

He noticed the dead of both sides as well, and was ashamed of himself. His orders caused those good men and women to lose their lives.

At least I saved those that I could have.

Colonel Murphy immediately recognized the large flag held by a Karakasian soldier standing near another man still shouting into the megaphone. His jeep slowed down and the colonel got out slowly.

The Karakasian soldier stopped shouting and put his megaphone down.

"I am Colonel Murphy, commander of all Frankychanland forces in the city of Roshem. I have petitioned the surrender of all FCL forces under my command to the allied forces."

The Karakasian soldier looked the colonel up and down and nodded with satisfaction.

"Alright," the soldier said sounding a little relieved. "Come with us, we'll take you to the Commandante."
                              -----

                              Ali'i City, Frankychanland capital
                              Command Bunker

General Frankychan observed the events unfolding. All across the Azani terriory, allied forces were leading counter-offenses and the Hive/FCL gains were being lost at an astounding rate. The Western Front was of great concern. The Hive forces fought with ruthless efficiency, far better than his own troops.

The training his military received from Auldonina before the two countries helped his military a great deal, and the Hive's training further increased the FCL military efficiency. He wanted as much Hive soldiers around as possible so he could make them permanent military advisors.

Lost territory in exchange for a permanent military infrastructure that was proven. No choice there.

                              The General stroked his chin.

"Order the withdrawal of all Hive soldiers in the Western Front back into FCL territory. Then send 3 more FCL mechanized infantry divisions in the Eastern territories. Have them report to Major General Momotaro in Tal Zach."
                              ----------

The order for complete withdrawal of the Western Front by Hive forces spread throughout the territories. The Hive soldiers, efficient and unquestioning of orders, began their withdrawal.
