Command Bunker

General Frankychan overturned his desk in a blind rage. Moments ago, he received incoming news that terrorists attacked two of his major industrial cities.

News coming from the cities indicated that the agent used in the attack wasn't dissipating. Soldiers that were first sent into the cities fell over dead. Intelligence reports indicate that the total losses from the two terrorist attacks are estimated at 200,000. Frankychanland policies immediately went into effect and the two cities were effectively quarrantined. Any citizen who was caught leaving the city was effectively "neutralized".

General Frankychan swore at the top of his lungs until the veins in his neck stood out. After a few tense moments, he addressed his assembled men.

"Find out who did this! These terrorists are to be taken ALIVE! I want them brought directly to me."

One of his aides meekly inquired about another pressing issue.

"Sir, what about the Jonchastani proposal for peace? The nations of Apolyton seem to have given their view."

General Frankychan inhaled deeply to calm down.

"Good, that's what we were waiting for. Give the nations of Apolyton our proposal."

The General turned to look at a monitor that showed an overview of Ali'i City. Bombed out houses and scattered fires filled the viewscreen.

This war is becoming too costly for us.

[OOC: I'm trying to mark the map that joncha has graciously made with some FCL cities....kinda hard tho. Sorry guys, I was a little turned off by the flaming done as of late, so I wasn't checking as much as I should have. But since I see that that has ceased, I'll be checking more often now. ]

Here's a rough version of my amateur GIMP skills.

That last city's name looks like it was cut off. It's suppoed to be Aisenodni. Those listed are the largest cities with 200,000 or more. That FCL Military Fortress is military personnel only.

No, you cannot launch missiles at it or bomb it.

Bank of Progress Building, Roshem, Free Azan

Inside the gutted bank that served as Azani field headquarters, reports were coming in from across Roshem: the Karakasans had pushed to within blocks of the FCL HQ in the south, the Roshem militia, with the help of ALA fighters and Nooslander special forces, had secured the downtown docks, and the ring of Azani forces in the north continued to tighten on the Frankchanlandian garrison. In all, only about 20 square blocks of Roshem was not under allied control, as the FCL forces continued their measured, disciplined retreat in the heavy fighting.

In the past few hours, however, fighting across the city had begun to bog down. Commandante Gluckstein and his fellow officers were debating just how to break the deadlock.

"Moshe, how many of your people can you spare?"

"We're spread pretty thin already, Commandante," answered the militia leader, "but if we take some of Bazovsky's brigade off the North Bridge, we can probably scrape together 6 or 7 companies."

"It'll have to do. We've got fresh partisans from up-valley, and if we shift..."

"Sir?" a young radioman interrupted the commandante by handing him a slip of paper. The rebel leader read it slowly, then looked up at his comrades and smiled.

"It's a message from the Karakasans," he said, pausing for effect, "the Frankychanlandian Colonel wishes to surrender."

Roshem, FCL Divisional HQ

Explosions still went off in the distance as well as sporadic gunfire. Colonel Murphy placed both hands on the table in front of him and sighed. He didn't know if the runner he sent to tell the Karakas forces that he wanted to surrender got through. For all he knew the Karakas soldiers fired on the man before he could relay the request for a surrender.

The morale of the FCL forces in Roshem was steadily dropping. Squads scattered throughout the city were reporting enormous opposition forces spilling into the city from all sides. Armored support columns from Allied forces were scouted as coming from all sides.

Colonel Murphy and the men under his command were surrounded. Cut off from supplies, reinforcements....hope. Murphy just wondered if his request for surrender made it through.

The map has been updated to reflect the recent attacks. Note the change in the Tel Azan/Hofesh front: the Auldoninna advance has been blunted in response to the Hive attack.

edit 2: just for clarification... the (fairly) standard colouring scheme is red=azan, orange=fcl, green=hive, yellow=auldoninna, purple=ceroo, pink=guardinia, navy=centralis, pale blue=noosland, grey=jonchastan, off-white=al mastif (the colours for some nations have been different on some maps, and some nations not included here have had other colours, but I'm trying to standardize them...)

"Right. I want a general cease-fire across all lines. Tell the Karakas commander to arrange a meeting with Colonel Murphy, and that I'll be there to talk with him personally."

As the radioman hurried to relay the messages, Commandante Gluckstein turned to Military Chair Meir, "Do you have the Roshem Council's authority to accept a transfer of power, Moshe?"

"I'd have to confer with Bazovsky, in case the University Neighbourhood Council has any objections to Givat Yofi getting the glory, but other than that..."

"Great. You're coming with me, then."

Generic Newsflash: Death Toll in Frankychanland Reaches 200,000

The total death toll from the chemical weapons attacks on Franksinatra and Frankzapa has risen to an estimated 205,000 overnight, with more bodies being discovered every minute.
The attacks, which came four days ago, were made using a quick-acting gas known coloqually as 'Organ Enema v3.2', which is only produced in the Tooled-Up Sultanate of Al Mastif.

Emergency services have also been struggling to contain a number of blazes, which have sprung up throughout the two cities, and a number of people are believed to be being questioned in relation to the fires' origin.

Al Mastif denies all involvement with the cowardly attacks, denouncing the perpetrators and vowing to help find the terrorists responsible.
