Maybe we should take another look at the Points Based Military Calculator and see if we can make it, how shall I say, not god-modish.
Al Mastif's attitude towards military spending very much counts as 'Ruled', it has a Frightening economy and it doesn't rely on weight of numbers.
How can I not god-mod without figuratively shooting myself in both kneecaps?

Actually, Arms Manufacturing used to be my primary industry, but I haven't got it for a while, so it has been usurped by Uranium Mining for the time being.
Let us see:
Arms Manufacturing - implies decent military (at least).
Uranium Mining - can justify nuclear weapons program, especially as a nation's main industry.
Besides, my nation's got a pretty damn good manufacturing sector, being 9th out of 88 nations with a much smaller population than the others on the front page.
So what's your point?

Having a good manufacturing sector means you can turn out plenty of extra materiel (notice my "sophisticated" French-oid spelling of "material") in war time.

Actually, the term manufacturing sector indicates that we're talking about a percentage of your business, so a larger nation with a larger economy could have a higher production output than yours even if their manufacturing sector is smaller.

True... the Hive is a very good example of this, but Lazerus would also suffer from the aforemention problem of being, in PBMC terms, too damn freakin' good.

Since when? I'm hardly omniscient when it comes to economics, but I have never encountered the term being used as you say it is.

Think of the entire economy as one big circle - or a cake if you like. Then you start cutting out pieces of the cake. Each piece is a sector, and it also represents a certain percentage of the total economy. That's why a sector diagram is called a sector diagram.
