  • The Apolyton Court

The request has been submitted that the regional court be re-established (see thread).

An elected court did once exist, (Akiria, Centralis, Wine, North Texas and Redfern were the members), but over time, The Commonwealth of Akiria and The Kingdom of Wine have faded out of existence.
Perhaps it is time to open elections for the two vacant positions, or since it has been just over a year- hold new elections?

(original court elections can be seen by clicking here.)

The people of Basus would like to thank our regional delegate for his quick reaction and we would like to bring the case Frankychanland before the court. Objective rule will continue to keep our region stable and prosperous.

Centralis is in favour of revitalising the Court; this time around, it might be wise to set up a framework for elections beforehand, rather than letting Court members stay in office until they lose interest.

General Frankychan welcomes the chance to prove it's administrations innocence in said-court.

"I have done nothing wrong. The people of Frankychanland were tired of the bloated republic and it's constant bickerings. With one strong leader at the helm, things get done and corruption is a thing of the past! Crime is non-existent! Frankychanland has transformed itself from a bloated, corrupt nation into a strong one."

Frankychanland agrees to establish the regional court.

Karakas was not a member of the court in its previous incarnation, and at the moment is not inclined to be a member of the court in its next incarnation. We hope that this policy decision will not affect relations with our Apolytonian neighbors.

The people of Basus hope that with the realisation of a court of arbitrage all nations in apolyton will have somewhere to turn to. We think it would be best if the courts jurisdiction would contain all the states within Apolyton. This would make our region stable and it would allow us te create a more vivid roleplay.

From the Jonchastan Broadcasting Cooperative, Channel 3:

The Jonchastani Neighbourhood and Workplace councils are currently deadlocked on the issue of participation in the Apolyton Court, as the majority Revolutionary Socialist Party is split down the middle, and the minority parties have failed swing the debate decisively in either direction.

The debate centres on whether the newly refounded Court and associated Defence Initiative will, in the words of Democratic Communist Party spokesperson, "foster greater regional cooperation and unity" or merely "provide a fig leaf for imperialist adventures," as a circular by the Jonchabad Anarchist Affinity Group warns.

With April's Congress Delegate Elections happening tomorrow, the Central Committee has defered decision until the new make-up of the All-Jonchastani Congress of People's Delegates is known.

Analysts have predicted that the decision will come down to the highly volatile and fractious Jeongyeon City councils, where no party--or coalition of parties--currently hold a majority.

Central Committee Co-Chair Hector Con Carne warned earlier today that rejecting the court would harm relations with Jonchastan's "natural allies" in the region...

The Basus parlaiment has voted unanimously for the resurrection of the court of arbitrage and for the establishment of the Apolyton defence Initiative. The national security counsil has advised that these organisations would get full jurisdiction in all Apolyton states. The power of these organisations would be limited by a majority vote of 2/3 of the members. Only the courts jurisdiction would be unlimited but only in cases brought before the court by a Apolyton Nation. After the ruling of the court a nation can apeal. Their case will be examined again and the courts findings will be jugde by a jury of Apolyton nations. The nation that has requested the apeal can object to the jugdes in the court if their rulings seem to be influenced or not objective enough.
Before any case is brought before the court we would suggest a normal arbitrage or mediation procedure. One of the jugdes of the court will lead this procedure as an umpire. The nations in conflict both can choose a Apolyton Nation as their advocate. If negotiations fail then the case will be brought before the court. The courts ruling (after apeal) is binding for all Apolyton Nations.

Guardinia agrees with Basus and would like to see all Apolyton nations under the jurisdiction of the Apolyton Court. We feel that if several nations were to end up not being under the jurisdiction of the court, this would sort of undermine the court's purpose.

A court of arbitration is one thing; but the Karakasian public and, for that matter, the government, are less than enthusiastic about a court with the power to try individuals outside of their own nation's justice system.

That would be a a option after the origional court has proven it's use but only if there is a need for such a individual way and only if all states agree (2/3)

                            Issued statement from Frankychanland security:

Frankychanland agree's to the establishment of the court so long as the court does not become a collection of like-minded nations. All nations should be present, regardless if they are 'democratic' or not.

The countries participating in the court should be elected in democratic elections. The gouverment type doesn't matter.
