The attack on Barbaresco should not start more than 30 minutes before the rescue operation. This way, even if CFLA decides to check out on the prison compount, they will not have enough time.

lol... actually I just did a typo.

        I intended it:

The attack on Barbaresco to start 4 hours and 45 minutes

The rescue mission to start 4 hours 47 minutes

        Sorry

          Civil war update

A royalist attack against the St. George Line did not went very well, the CFLA forces managed to resist the first wave of armored vehicles, and counter-attacked, the situation there is at a stall.

On the southern front thins are going much better for the repubblicans, what was supposed to be just a diversive attack became a major victory for the Repubblican forcesm which managed to break the CFLA lines near Fornazzolo.

Seeing how good things were going the Repubblicans quickly reinforced their invading army, and managed to surround the main CFLA army in the south, and they managed to make many prisoners.

In trying to make up for this major defeat the CFLA forces tried to launch a VX gas bomb, which is believed to be the one that was stolen from the New Griffith arsenal.

Although the plane transporting it was intercepted by the Repubblican fighters, and crashed in the middle of the "Vino Forest", causing a major enviromental catastrophe.

The Vino Forest, home of the flying cat, simbol of Wine, had just recovered after a strange virus started to kill the plants in there. The forest was saved thanks to the introduction of many enviromental policies, and mostly thanks to the help from the Akirian enviroment minister.

The area was blocked to civilians by the Repubblican military, and currently the animal are being transfered into the Grignolino National Park, where they will stay until they may be able return to their natural habitat.

                Civil war update.

Approximatly three and a half hours later the first attacks against the Saint George Line by Royalist forces, the town of Barbaresco was hit by a strom of cruise missiles, neutralizing the town defensive. Soon after nooslandian forces, entered the town, greeted by the locals as liberators. Then with the support of the local partisan groups and the help of the royalist forces infiltrated in the town, they took control of the city, capturing many prisoners, although there are still no news of the Great Bishop Antonio Pizarro... some says he has escaped, others say he was killed during the cruise missiles bombing.

The cruise managed to hit many important military targets, but unfortunatly one of them was intercepted by the Anti-missiles defenses of Barbersco, and instead of hitting its target, it fell on a civil house, killing a 67 years old woman.

Almost simultaneusly, 3 large helicopters arrived at the Barbaresco's prison compound, liberated the prisoners, and went back to the Jackson carriers as fast as they came.

It was than discovered that the soldier inside the prison were RIAW agents or Royalist troops, that quckly reached the city of Barbaresco and helped in defeating the CFLA forces inside.

                    A view up close

                    T-5 minutes.

Commander Tom Po of the Nooslandian Alpha Hammer Team One glanced at his watch. Everybody were in position. The night sky was lit only by the stars, but he knew that the cruise missiles were on their way. Soon, important targets would be illuminated by the Ghostlight members, making sure that they would be precisely struck.

His muscle tensed, even though Tom was a veteran who had seen action many times before. It was a warm night, almost hot. Tom started to sweat. Then, suddenly but expectedly, an almost inaudible beep came through his earpiece. That was the signal that the missiles were closing in.

Almost reflexively, he jumped out from his hiding place and followed the route on his mental map. Steadily, Tom and his teammates approached the HQ of CFLA Great Bishop Antonio Pizarro.

Out of the corner of his eyes he saw Simon Red dispatched an unfortunate CFLA guard. At this time, there was a loud boom following a bright flash of light. The first missile had struck a mobile SAM unit, putting it out of action.

Swiftly, he spoke through his mouthpiece, "Rolling thunder," which is the codeword for his team to start executing the plan. As one, all seven of them rushed through the streets of Barbaresco, whose night sky was now bightly lit by fireballs of explosions. CFLA guards were screaming, rushing, and dying everywhere. Bam! He nailed one with his AJ-52 submachinegun.

Inside the building, the lights were out. Confused guards were screaming and shouting, while his men were picking them out with night mission googles and disabling them with these newly fangled sonic guns. The R&D guys had told them that the new toys worked great. All the guards were tied up and searched.

The locked door to the control room was quickly blasted open by a shaped charge. The team tossed in a couple of flash grenades and charged in. Anybody inside, standing or not, was hit by a sonic blast.

The team spreaded out and started searching. Some removed documents and some took computers and electronic devices. Tom himself went looking for Antonio Pizarro, and he was not there. Curses! Where could he be? He thought to himself.

"Sir?" Tom snapped to attention. It's Bill Smit, the demo expert, who was talking to him, ""All charges are set up and ready to go."

"Excellent. Simon and Greg, grab one of these guards. Lets get out of here!"

Outside of the building, Tom saw the Blue Caps were arriving. They had commandeered the tanks and were chasing down CFLA soldiers. "Everybody clear of the command post by 30 meters!" Tom spoke through the mouthpiece. "Okay Bill, you have the call."

Then he saw locals, gangs of them, armed with various weapons from large sticks to rifles, were running through the darkened streets. He thought he saw a familar face among them somewhere, but he wasn't sure.

It was, in fact, RIAW agent 018, who had inflitrated the town days before. He was elated to see the residents revolted against the CFLA forces, so he came out from the hiding to lead them. The power to the town had been cut and chaos were abound. Just a minute ago he saw the CFLA HQ went up in flames, and there were Nooslandian Special Forces everywhere. It's almost like watching a movie, he thought. But there's little time for reflection then when there was much to do.

The town was almost theirs to control, there were just mopping up some loose pockets of resistance. Rebel troops had rounded up and accounted for most of the CFLA soldiers. Several minutes ago several large helicopters came by, dropping off Royalist troops and more RIAW agents. Before that, yet more helicopters and more Nooslandian soldiers.

Agent 018 looked up at the sky. It's almost daybreak. The Nooslandians had start leaving. But it was a great night. A night of the beginning of the end, for CFLA.
