          Current status for all non-insiders:

          - the UI controls are done now and most of the first graphics for it
          - we are beginning on a first demo, although we are not sure what to put in
          - the designing is doing better since the turn system is now decided
          - most of the ggs members have been really busy the past weeks, but it seems that this will get better now
          - see for more details the other posts of course...

Reactions, comments or disagreements ( ) can be posted here...

I apoligise for my abscence lately. Along with my school work I actually had a few holidays

First Wednesday the 11th I was off till the Tuesday for Easter, water-skiing in the day, annd drinking at night.

Arriving home on the Tuesday I climmbed in bed, and then awoke on the Wednesday leaving for a Cross-country camp, basically 4 days of running. I am wwriting this message in extreme pain. Can you believe that after 4 days of running, we enter a 9km race this afternoon? And it is geographically impssobile, but the course was all uphill!! And it was a loop!

Anyway, sorry for being away and not telling

Unfortunately the GGS team are all very buissy at the moment. So most of the development is currently taking place on our mailing list, and is with the UI, which is actually coming along nicely. But wait a month or two, and we will be more active again.

Can we make this a sticky-thread again?
                Mark? Dan?

How about taking this as an opportunity to start a new overview thread? What I have in mind is something that has a first post telling what the project is about (like Joker's description here), who we are and whaat makes us so damn special , and the following posts could be weekly updates. Currently, this thread is kind of messy with all off-topic posts and old, irrelevant question in my opinion, and really not very useful to anyone.

About sticky thread, I'm slightly against them. If a topic is such that no one wants to participate, then we should let it die. Anyway, with weekly reports the overview thread would always keep visible without such tinkering.

You are right. We should post a weekly update. Still like the sticky treat, since new visitors will looks at the first treat first, it's as simple as that.

Looks like this thread is sticky again... Anyway, yes, I think you're right that it would be convenient for the overview thread to be on top. But what sort of things would be discussed there? If it's a permanent thread, then eventually all the discussion in there would be outdated. And a new user does not start the thread with the latest post, he reads the first one first. Just look at this thread: it's half a year old and most of the stuff discussed has absolutely nothing to do with our current situation. Would so even less if we had made more progress.

Here's what I suggest: we get rid of this particular thread and start a new one. I could take the responsibility of posting a new project overview, and a status report every week. Of course, the status reports could be posted by anyone on agreement, but editing the project synopsis has to be up to the one who does it the first place. Apart from synopsis, reports and occasional corrections there would be no discussion under the thread. Just sharing information between all the participants.

Opinions, please. Would this be sensible?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Of course with weekly updates, we would need something know every week

And if you, Leland, where every unavaliable, I would volunteer to write the updates.
