  • This is getting ridiculous!!!

It's getting to the point where I'm losing respect for Firaxis, for their lack of information regarding the Dino game. I mean...this is a game that is scheduled to hit the streets before CivIII, and that we know will between 1 year and 18 months from now.

So what gives, Firaxis? Why the sudden silence? It's not like you guys to keep us gamers in the dark, for so long time. Please give us just a little something to show that the game is not dead. If nothing else, then just a statement that it is now official Firaxis policy to not release information about future games.

    Regards...

I sent an e-mail to Firaxis today about the utter lack of information regarding the dino game. This is the reply I got:

    quote:

    Hi Morten.

Thanks for your note. Sid is immersed in game design and will update everyone on the status of the Dinosaur game soon. Keep an eye on our website and Apolyton for information.

    Take care.

So, what... Sid's the only one who can update the diary or website? Other people did it before...

Yeesh. My mail about a month ago asking for any kind of go/no-go status report was ignored.

It is odd that they were telling us so much about it before, only for it to trickle down to nothing.

You'd think they'd wind up the marketing machine once they got the ball rolling rather than start it, have it die, and then re-start it again later.

I run to help the poor Midknight

Drakenred, to be fair Dino was announced as far advanced in developement. It was supposed at the time that it would be released Christmas 2000, to have some fresh cash after SMAC/SMACX

It was tell to us (see diaries) that an alpha was showed to the publisher very early this year. The sad fact probably is that Firaxis was hitten very hardly by the exit of almost all the CIV 3 team, while mostly the fan where mildy interested to a Dino (RTS) game.

Dino was really the new creature of Sid, know to never come back on sequels (CIV 2 was not his work, we know) but he had to keep on rescue of CIV 3 because (I suppose) of publisher pressure.

Probably Dino is now almost hybernate on a Cold Age, until the dawn of Civ 3 will put it again under the spot light
