I think we have all decided that if Firaxis makes dinosaurs DinoCraft that it will fail compared to Firaxis. I agree, but would just like to add another game to that list...

Don't make Sid Meier's Dinosaurs! (emphasis on the !)

While SM's Gettysburg! was a great game and I'm sure Antitem! was fun, I don't think anyone wants to see a game of dinosaurs just lining up to fight.

I'm afriad our Sid has a slight perchant for the lowly '!'. Look at Sid Meier's Pirates!, for example.

I whole heartly dissagree: I want Sid to make Dino's. From the diaries, I think the game will be very imaginative and fun. That is what Sid excels at: taking an unusual topic for a game, or a topic from a different perspective, and pouring tons of fun and IMAGINATION into it. I think Dinos will be fun!! I am looking forward to seeing my cute little baby dinos grow up!

I woudn't think so. Dinos has been in development for several months longer than Civ3. It also appears earlier on nearly every list I've seen.

I guess I did not make myself clear in my post. I would like to see Dinos made, I just don't want to play Gettysburg or that type of game. And we already know that DinoCraft will not work.

So now the question is how to make another type of RTS. I really would like to see Firaxis give us some basics on how they plan to make the game so that we can begin to discuss the actual elements of the game.

P.S. I expect that they finish Civ III before they get very far in Dinosaurs. I base this on the fact that in the Civ III Suggestions forum, Firaxis devolopers have asked questions about what default save files should be called. Firaxis is working on the details of Civilization III but are just beginning to even come up with a system for Dinosaurs.

Sorry tniem, you are really coming in a hurry into this forum. You are really posting about many argument that this forum already addressed.

That's understandable, there is really too much posts here to have time to read them all.

I only suggest you to be less drastic about fact you have not enough info.
Once for all, Firaxis tell us that Dino will be ready far before Civ III, and that was before more than half Civ III team left Firaxis to found BHG

And about savefile naming, may be Firaxis survived CIV III team can only cope with such minor details
