  • Sid Meier's Dinosaurs!

Sidsnextgame: Requires a brain bigger than a walnut.

Go and se for yourselves: Sid Meier's Dinosaurs!

What do you think? Real time or turn based, what should it be?

I wonder when it will be ready? (Dec 2000?)

    Jeje2

P.S. MarkG & DanQ: Where is the best place to talk about Sid Meier's Dinosaurs? (Were do you want us to talk about it?)

    ---

    What happened?
½ an hour ago I read Sid's first diary entry, but now the link is to the mailinlist. (I know it was there, since I read it. I wonder?) Only the diary was working then, archive and mailinglist links were broken.

Well it was seven (7) pages long.

In the first part Sid talks about his entusiasm to towards dinosaurs. How he as a kid already was interested and how his dad explained that they lived many million years ago. (But how could a kid understand how long time a million years is?) Finally Sid was talking of open questions. Many questions are still open. (ex. RT vs. turn based if I understood the text correctly)

In the second part someone else was talking. (Don't remember who, but I think he was from art department.) He stated about one famous monday lucnh when Sid talked about his idea to do a game about dinos. The timespan of million yeras. How to implement into the game vulkanos, terrain etc.

They also joked about the possibility of the metorite to miss earth or aliens arriving to earth.

Seven pages isn't much, but it was very interesting.

I must have by accident droped to the site when they tested it Lucky me. Was I the first one to read it?

        Jeje2

P.S. I know one who's gonna reload that page all night until it is there.

MarkG: Just remembered: They told also that the first play has been done. A dino eating and growing. The possibilities are endless.

              Hmm...
I think I have to back to work soon and research the cache on my computer. Maybe, just maybe, the diary is stored on my computer

A list, hmmm. Does firaxis want a list for this game. You had better find that out 'cos it's useless if they wont read it. But if they'll read it, i'll help out.

yin26: No I don't want you to suffer anymore than I do.

And Yesterday night was pain. First I read the diary and shout it out loud everywere, then the diary is gone. (Was I dreaming or wasn't I dreaaming?) On IRC they already started to joke with me. Vivid imagination, sleeping at work?, etc. Luckily I wasn't dreaming.

So Yin it was just a joke. I personally don't belive that FIRAXIS would ask one more list right now. (Not after CivIII.-list v2 is over 500 pages They have to read that one first.)
