If I go over the Suggest Category I get the link I just copied. I used Netscape 6.2. OK I found out the problem: I wasn't loged in at least a more informative error message would be more helpful. At least one that tells me to log in first.

At least you can count the links in the mods category, today it says there are 19 links, although I can only count 17. So at least there must be two invisible links. Yesterday it were 20 links, and you moved one. So this was also true yesterday.

      IW,
The most comprehensive up-to-date list of CtP2 links in existance is probably the links section of the Depot. I'll see if this can be copied to the Apolyton Dir somehow in the near future (if you don't visit that part of the Depot often, I bet there is at least one link there you have never seen before - and I still add new ones from time to time).
yeah, seen them all. Still two dead links though. The AOL one at the bottom, and Alper Saracoglu's CTP units - which I think Martin has backed up on his site.

I still laugh when I see Apolyton above the official site though
      Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?

Hmm, I find it rather odd that you as a regular user have the power to just remove files at will (it doesn't even inform me when files are deleted), while for everything else you need validation by an admin ...

But very weird things are going on anyway, I'm now seeing 2 version of the original pack: both with identical stats but only the description field is different Did you remove 1 or 2 files? Were there any oddities during your editing/removing?

Edit: come to think of it, you should never be allowed to edit files without admin permission. Either Markos has been messing with the Dir as well or some really weird things going on here...

Just to make him update his profile? That's a little over the top if you ask me... The poor guy probably just finished drinking all his Activision trauma's away, you want to remind him again?

        Fixed.

Yes, and there are still some missing sites too: FRITZ's homepage, Gamecatcher forum. I don't have much time to update. The AOL site went down pretty recently as I'm certain visited it not too long ago. Goes without saying that the Apolyton links section (once I get around to it) will have these issues resolved...

I still laugh when I see Apolyton above the official site though
You mean Apolyton is NOT the official CtP1/2 site?

          Locutus:

If you mean, deleting the fields that contain the primary and secondary files? Yeah, just highlight and delete. *shrug* I dunno, didn't notice anything wierd (except that I COULD edit it of course). But as you say, some wierd things are happening at the moment.

And I thought we could show him what we have done with the game. Was it really so terrible for him?

Tecnically it is on another server and I only linked them from the forum. Here is what Alper said:

              originally posted by Saracoglu
yep, I have found the link to upload files. It is on the ctp2 section.
It states however that it can take up to 4 weeks until the posted files appear on apolyton.
So I have uploaded them all to my server. Sorry about the page design, I've done them in a few minutes.
You can wait until the files appear on apolyton files section, or download them directly from:

              All download links have screenshots.
I will remove the files from the above server as soon as they appear on apolyton.

              Happy modifying
              Alper
So this means they should go into the directory.

I dunno, you could try contacting him, but I for one, if I was ever to try it, would wait for a special occasion before doing this. But if you want to contact him now, knock yourself out...

So this means they should go into the directory.
Good idea, I will do this.

                  Re: a special occasion

Nov 19th will mark the second anniversary of the release of CTP2. What do you think of us trying to clean up all the stuff around here (I mean getting all the files and mods in really presentable shape) and inviting all the CTP2 team back for a birthday party or something like that.

This means I have to find the links now. Here there are they:

I downloaded only the huge unit packs, I didn't save an image that could be used as a thumb nail, but pobably you will find one in the *.zip files.

If the AP&L list is dead, can we take those rating things off linked pages?
                        Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?

                          Martin,
Is there an existing forum thread for the unit pack? I thought there was, but I can't find it anywhere...

There is a forum thread, but not in the CTP2 forum as the units were originally intended for CTP1. But as it is usually with unit ressources the fit in the CTP1 and in the CTP2 section.

                            Here is the thread:

Just tried to download Iskallin world map for SAP. First thing the layout of the zip is not good - in order to work you need to move the savegame in another folder. Second - it won't work with SAP - it doesn't allow you to build any settlers. When you load it with the regular game, that works though...

Well, that's up to the modmakers to get right. I can't check for each and every file if it's using the right folders and if the readme is clear enough, etc - that would be a fulltime job. You'll have to contact ískallin about that.

Basically making sure files work as advertised is also the responsibility of their authors. But I'll check it out in this case and adapt the title/description if needed...
