Prez' Propaganda

The Lemurian Herald has obtained propaganda sources relating to the current stand-off between Lemuria and Austria, writes Frozzy. The leaflets show a pro-war stance, including designs such as an Austrian running scared from the Lemurian troops, and the infamous "How to cook a Austrian family" booklet.

APP being bribed by the Austrians?

According to a high level governmental, who wants to stay anonymous, the Apolemurian People's Party has been bribed by the Austrian government. His information includes that the acting President of the APP, Zaphod Beeblebrox, has been granted enormous advantages, if he succeeds to lure our people into a non-aggression pact against Austria. This would include that our upcoming self-defence against Austria should be abandoned. Furthermore this information reveals a long time plot against the freedom of our people. It includes information revealing that Austria is only willing to keep us as a border nation to protect itself against the Germans and Thais. Meaning that they are willing to conquer our beloved nation in case of either growing to much or being a threat to their internal affairs. They already established long term plans to conquer us and supress our nationality.

Therefore people of Apolemuria:

Stand up against the evil and be ready for our self-defence

This ludicrous accusation of bribery should be treated with contempt only should the threat to our Democracy be less dangerous.
It is a matter of importance to note the higher level of our government rests in the hands of the War Party officials or sympathizers who have an interest in discrediting our movement which is the one and only democratic opposition to their bid for power.

The readers of the Lemurian Herald have of course already noticed Mister Gilgamensch has repeteadly defended the cause of war and should in no way be considered as a neutral observer in this case.

I have also noticed the Lemurian Herald has not given any proof that would give any credit to these so called informations nor it has named the source of this slanderous accusation. Though I sincerely doubt any member of the War Party has actually started this false rumor I know no evidence can be gathered against the APP because the only thing we can be blamed for is to serve the people and to believe peaceful growth is the best way to satisfy the needs of our citizens.

War party being bribed by the Germans?

Information has been brought to our attention, that the information from the high level concerning the bribery affair with the APP has been brought up by some war-mongers in both nations. The latest information received on this subject reveals that those people are just trying to heat up the motion of our nation's, so that war will be unavoidable. It seems that no official plans do exist on the Austrian side to expulse our nation. Concerning war prepartions no realiable source was available.

Furthermore information has been discovered, that Germany actual took part in this too. There is a possible hint between the War-minister in Germany and the President of the War party, Dale, showing that he was asked to concentrade our's nation attention against Austria, while they are planning to invade the Thais.

Official response from the office of the War Party Chairman:

Dear citizens of Lemuria,

In recent times, acts of blatant terrorism have been performed against our mighty nation, it's assets and our people. In response to this, the Office of the War Party Chairman issues this statement in defense of recent accusations levelled at the exalted position. Never has a bribe been accepted by or pursued by the Chairman of the War Party. On top of this, the Chairman also issued a list of nations labelled the "Axis of Evil", which includes nations known to or suspected to have performed terrorist acts against our nation. This list includes the nations of Austria and Thailand.

While admitting that the War Party had recently had talks with the Defense Minister of Germany, it was only to ensure further peace and stability within the region. As an act of good faith, the Chairman of the War Party accepted a generous donation from the German War-Minister as security on a verbal non-agression pact.

The War Party today announced the building of new offices made of solid gold. The new offices are rumoured to have gold-leaf ceilings, marble tiled floors and pillars of hand-carved sandstone that reach to the very heavens. The cost for the construction of these offices has been met by some people as ludicrous, but Chairman of the War Party, Dale, simply stated that, "The War Party has come into some money recently, and with the current state of our cramped and ugly surroundings decided to build new offices." When asked who donated the massive amount of money Dale declined to answer.

The cost of the project is likely to exceed 10 years worth of national tax income. This reporter believes something fishy is going on.

Hospitals flooded with river problem

The Pedrunnic General Hospital today issued an epidemic emergency to all citizens of Pedrunn and settlements in it's boundary. A new water borne virus has struck the metropolis. With our tax dollars going to the possible war in Austria, this new problem in our capital is only going to strain government resources further.

A statement from Dr. Letsallkilltheaustriansbutnottellanyoneaboutit, a hospital consultant was released today. In the said statement it read "The Pedrunnic General Hospital is experiencing an epidemic of the "Waterius-Buggius" virus, and it is life threatening. Symptoms include a sudden urge to join the APP, idolising of the APP president Zaphod Beeblebrox, and the unexplainable habit of urinating of War Party property."

Although our president, aptly named "Pedrunn the Slow" by Pedrunnians, refused to comment on the matter, a government spokesman issued this: "The Lemurian cabinet and parliament are funding the Pedrunic General Hospital with substanial funds to combat this epidemic. However, the unprecidented aggression from the Austrian Capital has forced us to persue other matters beyond our control".

War Party denies claims!

In the recent press release of the War-party, the chairman Dale denies any relation with the German war-ministry. He claims, that the talks to the German official had only been "to ensure further peace and stability". However, he doesn't deny that there had been donations involved, as a sign of goodwill from the German War-minister. This donation is as a "security on a verbal non-aggression pact".
The press release also included a claim of terroristic acts against our nation, from the so called "Axis of Evil". However, the war-party wasn't able to proof any sign for the involvement of the Thais. The claim against Austria Dale is backing up by the atrocities committed by the Austrian army in our territory during the past years.

This press release still leaves a lot of open questions. How does this claim justify to drag our nation into a world-wide war? Claims by the War-party that our soldiers are just acting as a peace force, should be watched closely. Their haven't been any proof that the Thais are involved into any action against our beloved country and community. Why is the war-party washing off all claims against Germany? What did they promise towards the German War-minister in exchange of the "verbal non-aggression pact"? This leaves a big suspision amongst our nation. We should watch carefull further information revealed.

NEWS FROM THE WESTERN FRONT
Pedrunnia - The Lemurian army has started its assault on Austria, two cities have been conquered and more than 60'000 people became Lemurian citizens, though unwillingly. Propaganda from the Warministry tells of heroic battles and a weak enemy. However, rumors tell, that the Austrians are planning a heavy counter attack. Some travellers claim to have seen a scouting army heading for our capital already. People are wary and prices on the market trippled.
Already there are calls for an end to hostilities and some APP sympathisants demonstrate in the streets. They are a small minority though. Others call for a full blow - a march on Graz - mostly WP lobbyists, while the voices of reason advise rest. The Lemurian army is in desperate needs of additional funding before it can strike again.

EXPANDING EMPIRE
Colonia Locuta - In the east things look quite differently. After securing peace deals with Germany and Thailand some colonists were bold enough to found another Lemurian city, mapfipolis. It has access to valuable coal which is badly needed for our army. Inhabitants of mapfipolis, however, call for a farmer to bring enough food into town in order to grow quickly. It seems like the Austrian threat isn't felt as immediate in the east.
