Us pinko-card-carrying-hemp-smoking-liberals are here to prevent you bloodthirsty-meatheads from making a terrible mistake.

        Keep exploring.

your posts seem like you want to change this democracy game into a junta-game and if you want to deny people with other thoughts than your one the right of freedom of speach. please prove me wrong.

Zaphod Beeblebrox> Seems like you get to exercise your freedom of speech a lot... ironically proven by the very fact that you did, responding to this thread...

Devil of Truth> Exploring means delay. Delay means their progressing more than twice as fast as us, turn on turn... we need to use as large a concentrated force as we can muster of combined infantry, and attack a weakly defended enemy town. Their loss, our gain, and a tide turned.

What would exploration teach us, anyway? That we are surrounded, and being closed in on, fast? Heres a clue, thats no big surprise. If you are aiming to look for settling sites to the south, pre a road network, heres another clue... lots of hills = high distance penalties to the capital.

Excellent point Mr.B. And very eloquently put too. I agree. What good would exploration do? Instead, we can valiantly dash into the unknown, against an enemy we know nothing about, bearing nothing but slightly pointy sticks and nary a trace of intelligent strategies.

Yeehah! Smells like Viet Nam boys.

Oooh. Didn’t that end in a "strategic withdrawal?"

Ah well. Who needs to learn from history anyway?

If you're gonna quote about smells and Vietnam, there is only one worthy quote:

"Nothing else in the world smells like that.... I love the smell of napalm in the morning.... It smells like... victory."

Vietnam is a lot different from the situation we are facing here... primarily because there are no nuclear weapons involved.

Secondly, that was not a battle for survival... it was an ideological power projection.

This is most certainly a battle for our survival...

Here is the problem. Each of our enemies is growing at twice our speed.

If we wait, their advantage just increases. There is no point when we'll catch up, unless we exploit a weak situation now.

This does mean risk. There is, however, no alternative.

the point is, we don't have napalm.

True, but we DO have pointy sticks and little thin sticks that whistle through the air and sting worse than a hornet. We also have the Great Lemur looking over our shoulders to make things work out
