I'm not sure I answered your question right but i hope this helps.

      more units soon.
E as I understood it each unit graphics has an *.ini file that tells Civ3 which animation it must use for example for death. So now look into the BlueO's *.ini file for his Biker Gyrl, it uses for fidget and victory the same animation. I took a look on some on the unit animations and I noticed that some animation are missing. Therefore I guess that at least some of them are used twice. Now I have to verify if the animations are used twice or more often falsify it meaning that you just have forgot them. (For example the *.zip file of the battle ship just contains three animation run, default and fidget.)

I guess I have downloaded it at least three times. First time with Netscape 4.5 I guess I did not finished the download, second time with Netscape 6.2 I got a corrupted savegame and finally I tried it with M$I? and I got the attachment. (Why must these stupid Micro$oft product work when all the other much cooler browsers fail?)

But to your question Big Mc I only found the *.tga for the Great Library. So here is my feedback: I am missing the shadow of the boat.

That was it I am only doing the tga for the great Library I just can't get the sprite maker to work at the moment.

I started on the tga for the archer, industrial army and the middle age army last night and found they were a real pain in the neck.

I finished it and they look like a stick in the center of the pic or they look a bit like napoleon a bit small and fat. Then I enlarged the sprit and it pixilated I will put them on the net soon when e sends me the text file for the civopedia of civ 3

I am looking forward on doing the nuke sub to night. should be fun

and to your shadow bit I aren't the shadows missing from the great Library

oh and that bowman looks so cool

Sorry guys, I havent been able to post any of the other images. I've been trying to learn the script and SLIc and its way over my head, thats what I get for having a history degree. That and I went on a few trips, I'm getting married soon, and moving back to the US at the end of Feb. Ok no more excuses.

I'll post more zips soon and a zip of all the *.ini files soon.

It would actually be easier for me to burn you guys CDs with these files but I'm not sure of the legality. I have acess to the US post office and a few bucks for the cause of a better CTP2 is worth it to me (beats the $50 I paid for Civ3). What would be illegal would be to pick up a pirated Civ3 CD that they sell around here for $3.

Martin, the battleship files I thought I posted them all in the zip files I'll check them out in, but there should be 5.

Big MC here comes the civlopedia text file.

any way I just downloaded the civopedia and want a degre my self to find what I am looking for

E, you could just upload the entire Civ3 graphics folder (or at least the FLC files in it) to my spaceports account (see this thread). That way you could upload everything at once and be done with it...
And yes, officially practically all the modwork we do here is illegal but noone - including the people at Activision, Microsoft, Firaxis and whatever other companies are involved - cares as long as we use the files we rip for 'good' rather than for 'evil'

I agree with you, fortunately I just have a box. Anyways, I'm going with Locutus's suggestion.
Edit: I looked at thje civlopedia as you scroll down the PRTO_ sections is where they have unit descriptions (if thats what your looking for)

the only thing I've really worked with for websites is Microsoft Frontpage. Before I go messing around up there you got any suggestions, guidelines, a better program to do the uploads, or a quick tutorial?

                        thanks

Well, I guess the easiest way to use FTP is to download CuteFTP from a website like downloads.com. I don't actually use this program myself but it's supposed to be the most userfriendly FTP program out there (for non-geeks anyways ). I can't give you detailed instructions because I never used it but the program probably comes with some good help files or tutorials or whatever.

The basic idea (which is the similar for almost all FTP utilities except the most primitive ones) is that you start up the program, hit the connect-button (if a connect-screen doesn't pop up automatically) and fill in the connect info: the server, username and password (see my thread for these). If the program asks for other things, they probably don't matter and can be ignored. Then make the connection (I guess you just hit the Ok button for that) and an Explorer like screen will be visible. This window is split in two: one half shows your own pc and one half the Spaceports server. You can probably navigate both sites in the same fashion that you would navigate Windows Explorer and use drag and drop or whatever to copy files from one computer to the other. Many people seem to think FTP is something very difficult or scary but in fact, as you can read, it's as easy as eating pie (providing you use the right program)...

In case you can't figure CuteFTP out (unlikely but you never know) or never plan to use FTP again after you uploaded your files to the server (in which case it would be rather a waste of time to download CuteFTP), you can also use your webbrowser to FTP (or perhaps FrontPage would work as well, if you're familiar with it - I'm not): all you have to do is click the link I mentioned in my thread (the apolyton:[somepassword]@galileo... one). This should (after a few seconds) bring up a very Windows Explorer-like screen (which shows a map called public_html and a bunch of files whose name starts with a dot). In this window you can navigate the server in practically the same way as regular Windows Explorer except that you can't copy and paste the same way - or at least not in my version of Windows, might be different on your system. If not, you should right-click the file you want to download to your system and select 'Copy to Folder...' and then select a folder to copy the files to your own computer in the window that pops up. To upload files from your computer to the server, open a regular Windows Explorer window (or whatever you normally use to navigate your computer), find and select the files you want to upload, right-click them and select 'copy'. Then go the Internet Explorer Window and right-click somewhere in the empty space and click 'paste'.
Not all that different from CuteFTP and the like but webbrowser are generally much slower than real FTP programs (and slightly more awkward to use)...

In any case, be sure to read the READ_ME_FIRST.txt file (in the folder public_html) before you upload anything. Other than that, just play around a bit with FTP, it's not hard to use and as long as you don't hit the Delete button while you've got files selected I don't think there's any way in which you could possibly do any real damage (but even with delete you can't do any unrepairable harm most of the time). If you have specific questions, feel free to ask...

I am back from the maze that is civ 3 civopedia. most of it looks like a pile of text but I think I may be able to get something out of it after all. It seams that they have strategic resources which is a problem if there is demand for it I may do one with the strategic resources and one with out.

any way has any body finished a sprite yet I would love to see the cruiser take to the sea in ctp 2

should be getting civ3 to day. depending if I can get the money of my parents

so expect the unit tga's by the end of the week the civopedia is taking longer then expected to "uncode".

at the moment I am just altering them so instead of saying "they need aluminum and uranium to make" I just put "aluminum and uranium are normally used to make this unit" so if you want the text can be used for both strategic resources and none strategic resources sounds fun yes
