    WOW! Look at this screenshot, just seen it in the new CtP1 screenshot section. Ive never seen it before in my life. This must be one one of the earliest betas of CtP1. Just look at it, the reason I post this in the Mooding forum is for its terrain. Its amazing if you ask me, if they would have stayed along these lines the terrain in CtP1 would have been better than in any Civ game by far IMO. Terrain could be used in a terrain mod, maybe when the CtP1 and CtP2 terrain are merged these could be added too ? Just an idea ........ but aint the screenshot great

    Minimap colours look better too IMO, these could be changed though couldnt they? If Locutus agrees maybe they will be different in HotW ?

      Wow, i quite like it actually, abit grim, but with abit of polish... Whats the hole in front of the legion, advanced mine?

      There isnt even a PW display on the interface.

        yea its the old advanced mine...

        seeing this screenshot reminds me of the screen on CtP1 that showed all that amazing terrain (the one which appeared in place of a blank saved game) if you know what i mean

        I can see that that picture being the concept art of how they would really want it to look, then this screenshot being the first attempt at achieving it (like they do with games development)

          Yeah it does appear in that load game box. Except you couldnt attack someone across the coast with a ground unit like that, unless thats meant to be a river...

            Doenst look muc different from the final terrain. Just a bit darker/brownish. What, I personally think this darkness makes the terrain look better.
            Except for the plains that just dont look good

            The mountains are amazing and the forest looks diferently interesting just dont know if they look better

            The Pic is nothing else other than art work in which the terrain of the pic does look like CTP.

              except for the forest (which i agree w/ Pedrunn on) everything is just flatter and darker

              the one of the concept art was very, very good, too bad it wasnt really

              the hills and shallow water are crap, but the forest and beach line are very good

              btw, notice the farm?

                Yeah the farm, pretty weird. My fav is probably the grassland and swamp, good detail. The minimap colours look abit like the colours used on the SMAC minimap too.

                Btw has anyone else noticed the plains pattern near the bottom looks like a swastika?

                    Well that puts the total of un used tile imps to two (xcluding the mine on your image).

                    There is early screen shots on the activsion site of an early attempt at automated fisheries.

                        Actually, I like the terrain in this alpha - they should of kept it. It's kind of like civ3 (softer looking) but it still retains the clearly-defined distinction that is a hallmark of the CTP series.

                        Too bad they did not keep the menubar on the final CTP1 build though.

                          2: A SPRITEster? I want it!

                              Isolated visible areas. Which means either units have been placed via the cheat menu, or the AI embassy bug is showing itself again...
