  • I think I know how to place rivers and huts through slic!

I know this for a long time. Since the time i had started to work in the BlueO's city expansion. While editing the code I've noticed that the terrain 32 and 33 always placed a river and hut respectively through the scenario editor.

At that time I saw this thing as a annoyng bug.
I few minutes ago I read the "Eye candy idea" thread. And a something told me "damn, we cant place huts in the game. There isnt the apropriate function" at the same time another voice said " Oh yes we can!!!"
The whole thing opened my mind to the use of this so thought to be bug.
    I think we can use
    Code:
    Terraform(tmpLoc, 32)
    to place rivers and
    Code:
    Terraform(tmpLoc, 33)
    to place huts

I did not tested this yet and i will only have time to test this tomorrow. If anyone wants give this a try i am going to be very thankful.

Pedrunn, have you thought about getting help for all of these voices in your head? ,

Sorry, I couldn't resist but I really hope it works .

Everytime I placed rivers over the terrain tile menue in the cheat editor I got rivers that weren't linked probably. I think this wouldn't give the terrain bonus of rivers, too. But of course you have to try it. I think you can only place rivers like this if you have a terrain in your terrain database that has the according database index and is associated with the graphic.

For the huts, you can put the graphics on the map, too. Here without any problems conerning the look. But the question is here a hut placed like this would it work like a noemal hut or would it be just a map decoration. I know you can use the graphic for a tile improvement.

Voices in the head are a sign of a healthy imagination .

Sounds like a good idea, I'm eagerly awaiting your results .

Even if it didn't behave correctly you could simulate the behaviour - though it would of course be prefereble not to have to.

Sorry but it will have to wait untill tomorrow. I had no time today. I only had time to test it without having a terrain DB in the terrain.txt. This way i could not get it to work what really makes this udea inviable (who will want to add eight new terrains just to have this feature?). Yet i am trying again tomorrow. My sleep may have affected the testing

The major problem is that the tile has to be created inside any civilization border.

PS: Before rumors start to spread I wnat to clear that I am not crazy ok. You can ask the little elves who sleeps under my bed.
