  • Turn 95--> Sophanthro (several hours ago)

    very strange- I see from the list of threads that there was a post here recently, but it doesn't show up. The same thing happened with Demo's post: I saw that a post had been made, but it didn't show up for me to read for a day. Odd.

    • ...but then as soon as I post, it does show up, and I see that MOBIUS has posted.

        Caligula, your tresspassing and spying upon the the soveriegn nation of Wales was an act of war, and so long as you continue to fight after we justifiably executed your miscreant agent, then we shall continue to call to arms all other brethren and comrades around the world.
        Cariad,
        Demosthenes.

        • Demos executing my spy I could live with - but declaring war and inciting your 'comrades' to join your struggle is just asking for trouble...

          BTW my pollution scales just completely erupted and I don't know why...

            We note with a mixture of amusement and horror that the pollution chart had to find a whole new scale from the last turn to be able to fit Mobius' pollution contribution in...

            • Turn to Demosthenes.

              Egypt called a pollution summit today and asked Rome to reduce her pollution, being a sea bound people we fear that we will be greatly effected bt this travesty against nature. Some of the Egyptian scientists believed that this recent spike in pollution was caused by a Roman acquisition of the technology of Robotics.

              In other news, Egypt has declared their research on computers to be complete.
              " Thanks to preserverence and fortitude of companies such Egyptian Computer Corporation (ECC) and Isis Soft (IS) our computers are now on level with the best in the world." Stated the minister of technology, defending his end of the age old ban against Roman computer equipment.

                • Turn 97 ==> Mobius

                  The first Welsh city was assaulted today, but comrades fought off the Fascist aggressors.

                  Unfortunately, this good news was tainted by rumours that Rome has yet again increased it's pollution levels, possibly with the creation of their stealth subs and bombers.

                  Wales is now the third most polluting nation, and the sum total of pollution emitted from Wales, Egypt and Assyria does not even come close to the filth belching out from Fascist oppressed cities.
                  Cariad,
                  Demosthenes.

                  • A great naval battle was fought of the coast of Cardigan resulting in a spectacular success for Roman forces - Rome is prepared to cease hostilities provided the warmongering Communist party of Wales is overthrown...!

                    The Imperator is completely vexed as to why Rome's pollution levels have attained such extraordinary levels???

                    The advance of Robotics has not been discovered - indeed Emperor Caligula has decreed that despite being at war the advance of Fuel Cells should be the next priority as most of the worst pollutioning cities of the Empire already have Recycling and Nuclear Plants...!

                      While Communism has been called a government of the people, in Assyria, the people do not seem to love it very much. In fact, the happiness of the common man has gone down quite a bit since changing goverments.

                      We're using the extra production to build entertainments for the people, while recycling plants remain unbuilt. Woe to the world's ecosystems!

                      • Turn 173 ==> Mobius

                        Many brave seamen were recently lost, and comrades around the world mourn their loss. Great anger at this outcome has been felt thoughout Wales.

                        As rising pollution levels again bring about the threat of a global environmental catastrophe, the comrades of Wales have been forced to offer a cessation of hostilities to the Fascists of Rome.

                        Pride first stood in our way, but when the existence of humankind comes into the equation, pride can only lead to more destruction of our planets beauty.

                        Although the worst polluting city in Wales is still emitting less than half of the worst polluting cities of our Fascist neighbours, we feel that we must do our part for the good of the human race.

                        Therefore, it is with great shame that Demosthenes of the Welsh asks you, Caligula of the Romans, to accept our offer of peace, if not for us, but for the benefit of humanity.

                        Demosthenes of the Welsh.
                        Cariad,
                        Demosthenes.

                        • Wise Demos,

                          Seeing as you are willing to make sacrifices in the name of the environment, as a condition of peace Rome demands the restoration of the old Theocratic government of Wales... Our nations were friends until Communism reared it's ugly head and seized power over the Welsh Synod!

                          A diplomat is being despatched and will arrive on the shores of Wales to check on the progress of the transition of government - a ceasefire is in effect until that time...

                          Rome will use this respite to redouble her anti pollution efforts - the advance of Fuel Cells will be achieved imminently...

                              The state of the world is indeed grave. Uruk itself has created a dead square, an unwelcome first for Assyria. That it happened on the very spot where the King maintained his harem's gardens only increases the tragedy.

                              We shall build recycling centers with increased haste.

                                Egypt thanks the world for working toward less pollution and hopes that they place more then just lip service to it, especially Rome.
