Its been 2 days since I sent the turn to Rowick, and it appears that he's having problems, so Burchill has asked me to send the turn on.

I cannot de-attach Creator from the AI, so the turn has gone to Jon 'til Rowick can de-attach Creator.

                  Creator:

As I said in my email to you, I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do. For some reason, the game doesn't respond when I try to take you from the AI. When Rowick gets back, he'll have to do it. In the meantime, you're still accumulating your gold, science, production, and all the rest. And as the only person you are at war with is gone right now, you don't have to worry about that.

I've detached the AI from Creator.

What were you having problems with Rick?

To welcome back Creator, the Emperor has sent a messenger to Assyria with a proposal for a new peace treaty.

(Thanks, Jon. It just wouldn't work when I tried it.)

                      • I'd like to propose that we do here what some other games are doing:

I think we should have a rule that players should have 24 hours to play their turn, after which their turn would be opened & closed, and passed on to the next player. This works better in the short term than setting to the AI, as the building decisions of the player aren't changed.

One of the games where I saw this rule was Sophanthro's Semi Acc (where Jon is playing now). Like here, their game seemed to have hit a number of snags and slowdowns.

What do you guys think? Shall we do it?

                        • I think it sounds like a good idea...

I would rather not have the computer taking decisions for me.

So the consensus is that we go with the 24h rule?

It works well in Semi-Acc where there are six of us and we still generally manage a Turn a day.

Any joy in getting in touch with Rowick or Creator?

                            • Right, from now on we will use the 24th rule.

If creator or rowick have any major problems with this then they can raise those issues when they come back.
